All though the decision of Duke Richard to abdicate the Ducal throne is a shock and a surprise to us all I do wish to declare that we should all give him an ovation for his selfless efforts in raising Elwynn from county status to that of a thriving and prosperous ducal community Â– one of the foremost in the realm. He has set his mark upon the duchy more completely than any of his predecessors. Under his rule Elwynn has risen to its rightful place in the sun, and in the midst of our prosperity he has seen to it that our multi-ethnic identity has been confirmed and defended against outside threats.Who has done more than Elwynn than he? That is why he shall be such a hard act to follow. Yet follow we must for if we are not to fail the vision he laid down we must not be afraid to choose one from our own number to pick up the mantle of leadership he laid down.One of us must be chosen to lead.The choice resides with each and every one of us, but for the sake of Elwynn we must choose wisely. When we do come to make this decision and cast our vote I wish to make it plain that I intend to stand as a candidate for the ducal throne. As former baron, and as Steward and Amir to the current Duke I believe I have the experience necessary for the job. As ruler I would keep Elwynn strong and united, its identity distinct, diverse and pure. So I urge you my fellow counts to consider me, Ardashir Khan, Count of Lesser Zjandaria for the position of Duke of Elwynn.

ACtually, if you would care to read up before you start trying to make yourself look superior Bill, if you will read through the 'Phoenix Forest' thread, Greg has already allowed them passage and basic settlements are already up.

It wasn't so much an allowance as that, I couldn't say no... you can slaughter all the elves you want here, but HOLY will always have elves. I should create a sub-species of elf that live there now or something. Island Elves maybe? Hm.. *plots*

Elves are technically part of the same species of humans, in order for them to breed fully with them.
