Time to settle: Name cities, towns and villages

Post by Daniel Farewell »

OK people. We don't have many cities here. We should add some.

Echo is going to be added.

What else... Alumelith outside Vijayanagara, yes.

Any more suggestions? Please give the places some kind of historic or geographic place.

Ooo, so we're rebuilding Alumelith, eh? That should provide some much needed RP tension :P

I've never been truly sure what kind of village/city/town Araxion is. I suppose we could make it a city. It's damn well historical, it's like the Bethlehem of Elwynn.

Ill think of others.

.
Village surrounding a fortified tower, currently a smouldering ruin in the wake of a visit by a certain Dravot of some renown. Excellent development potential.

My lord, my ancient city of Mejor still stands (http://shireroth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=161&t=11769). You can do as you please with it. It is a harbor at the mouth of the Elwynn.

Each county should have at least three major settlements that we can show on a map. So peeeeeople!

Also, would someone like to make a large-scale map of our holdings? :) I'll pay up to 1000 erbs depending on how good it is :p

Hm. With Shyriath's new map, this becomes ever more important.

The Directorate of Cartography is aaaalways watching you. :document

I will certainly be watching this thread with interest. Araxion has been placed on the claims map at the head of the Elwynn, and I believe Echo is already placed, but by all means, if you have any more to contribute, do let me know.

Edit: and also Mejor is on there. What about this Alumelith?

I am pleased to report there is no Alumelith outside Vijayanagara, there is only the ground zero for the initiation of the 'narrativity' bomb, and no city by that name will ever rise there again. Any questions? No? Good. Let us never speak of this again.

This is the latest map of all Hyperborean cities and the latest versions of the constantly shifting transliterations of their names. But I wouldn't want to remove what's currently on the MCS Map, because it's established a nice historical status, kind of like Aracigrad.

When I get to placing them on the vector map, would it be acceptable to have something like "Midoth (Thule)", "Tirach (Vanaheim)"?

Tala is supposed to be Thule (I know, it's in a different place, in-game continuity involves the city being moved and rebuilt after an earthquake), and Vanyam = Vanaheim, though I might have gotten the location wrong.

Ahhhh. I'd been going purely by location. Oh well.

Also, on the subject of cities: I'm guessing Ardashirshahr is capital of Alalehzamin? And what would the capital of Cape Farewell be?

Sorry Kaiser! Must have missed it. The seat of Cape Farewell is a village north of Caligae named "Andelarion House", but if you wish you can just label Caligae the capital.

For the MCS claims map, Caligae should do; but as more detailed information is integrated into the vector map, it should be feasible to indicate Andelarion House. Thank you much!
