Imperial Decree #342

Post by Kaiser Reynardine I »

By my hand,

This decree shall be immune from amendment or repealing by any Kaiser past, present, or future. This decree shall exist regardless of a question of legitimacy of this kaisership.

Done this Fishday, the 22nd of H'Graasreign, ASC 3417

Reynardine I, the Fox Kaiser

Yup, no unamendable decrees. Can't bind your successors. Alas....*looks back wistfully on the kaisership of Nicodemus...*

The Kaiser is only limited by the Charter, nothing else.

And tradition. It was decided long ago that a Kaiser cannot bind his successors. The Current Kaiser is ALWAYS above his predecessors. Now if you Amended the Charter, that binds your successors, but decrees don't. (I would not advise such an amendment)

May be so, but you'd have to be a real jerk to repeal this one. Pretty much the only reason to do it woult be out of spite.

There's no real harm in it. Editing it (by as little as adding the fact it was edited) might be a good idea just to maintain the precedent/tradition that past Kaiser's can't bind current/future Kaisers. Just as a display of power to clarify things.

Honestly, this set of decrees amuses me.
