You are a Duke. You lead House Kalirion, who holds the title and granted it to you. Kalirion hold Eliria in fief, linked to the title. and you hold Cape Farewell personally.

So.. I would say... Duke Kalirion, Lord of Eliria and governor of Cape Farewell? Sounds good to me. If you wanna lay it out differently, go for it.

What about my underlings? Are they nobles or commoners? They were counts before, are they that still?

They are ALL commoners. Unless they have been specifically granted a title from the Kaiser, or Landsraad, they are commoners.

Ignoring my Kaisership. House Mortis is a commoner house as we have no title granted to us.

We currently have 3 Dukes and 1 baron in total. I plan to grant no other titles under my reign, as things stand now.

I propose that MiniImNat (we need a new one, btw) be tasked with keeping a list of people's official residences, statuses (active/LOA), and titles and lands. Kinda like the IRS, but less evil.

EDIT: Also, does that mean that commoners are UNDER Nobles-Civitas? If that's so, our Council's empty.

I don't believe the law states anything about granting or revoking titles other than Patrician. Can Ric grant us Civitas status or does the Kaiser have to do everything?

The law says that only the Kaiser can create Dukes and Margraves, and that both the Kaiser and the Landsraad can create Barons, Thanes, Counts and Jarls. So if a Duke feels that a member of zir House should be elevated to the nobility, zie should petition the Kaiser or the Landsraad.

Mike is correct. And that was my goal. I wanted the Landsraad to have the power to assign some titles, but with the hope that competing interests between the houses would keep the numbers in check.
