Machinaria... I'm still unsure of. I didn't wanna steal Autochthon from Exalted, though it was tempting. and I was trying to reveal a bit about the feel in the name. Steampunk, transhumanism..etc.

Any ideas on a better name? Or does this one work?

I'd say keep the name Machinaria. It's not overloaded with anything obvious I can think of. Don't know so much about "technocracy" though - the Mandate specifically mentions democracy...

True. It was just a fun word to toss into a title. Though I feel an adjective is needed. Something fun.

Concordinate of Machinaria? Concordance is agreement, Concordat is a type of agreement, specifically one between a church(catholic) and a government. But it's esoteric enough most won't probably won't care.

Then comes what we start calling the legilature, and if the Landsraad goes back to one vote, or if we make the CoE. We'll need a name for our representative. And even a democracy needs someone to do the administration.

So... Names for a Legislature.
Asynchronous Assemblage of Wills.

We can call our representative an External Protocol Director or something weird like that.

The head of government/chairman of the assemble, could be called something like Administrator General. Or something WAY better. cause I'm sure Ari will think of sometihng 10x better that will blast these terrible suggestions out of the water.

Oh, I have something even better than an idea for a name for the type of government. See, being that I intend to have nothing to do with any sort of a formalised local decisionmaking here, I'm not in any hurry to get any government established. Actually, I don't think there needs to be any connection between the fiction-level type of government and the actual decisionmaking process, but that's just the RPer in me, I guess. Anyway, my contribution is this: Instead of deciding on a type of and a name for the government based on what just happens to sound nifty and vaguely appropriate, why not start by asking how Machinarians would choose to govern themselves?

(For what it's worth I think it'd be a fairly normal representative democracy. Or a democratic theocracy if such a thing exists. But! I do have an idea for an amusing story in mind inspired by the fact that the government derives authority from an assemblage of wills and not of, say, people, or minds...)

The "ria" seems excessive when you can do just as well with it being "Machina".

I dunno, "Machina" sounds a little too much like "machine"...

the 'ria' to me makes it sound like a place, while just machina feel like something is missing in the morphology. Is there an alternative to both? Cause I'm really not happy with Machinaria.

No, anything that begins with Machi- makes me think of machinima

I need to finish watching that show...

And I think the Technocracy is going to be dropped from the name, either way.

I'll add Machineia to the pot. Not because the word "machine" needs to be there in full, but because I like words that end in -eia.

Maybe we just have several names. Various places wil;/can use what they prefer. Those of the once Monty Crisco might use Machinaria while refugees from Straylight might use Machineia.
