Vanhal-class Scout Submarine

Post by Zirandorthel »

The Vanhal-Class Scout SubmarineUsed as both a scout sub and a hunter killer (a submarine that hunts other submarines) the Vanhal has withstood the pressure from newer, more modern classes of submarine to form a mainstay of any Shirerithian naval strategy. Though not originally designed by Shirerithian technicians, they have been fitted out with the latest in the Imperial RepublicÂ’s innovations, leaving similar submarines owned by other nations in their proverbial wake.Conditions are somewhat cramped on board, with a crew of slightly over 40 crammed into a 70 metre vessel. Normal procedure when not in a battle situation is to keep sonar low, so as not to inadvertently kill marine life. This class is usually armed with Nux torpedoes and is propelled by standard nuclear engines.Examples of the Vanhal are the Ranelagh, the Rathfarnham, the Rathmines and the Clondalkin.StatisticsDisplacement: 2,400 tons submergedDimensions: 70.26 by 7.6 by 5.5 mPropulsion: Nuclear powerplantCrew: approx. 44Speed: 30+ knots (56+ kilometres) per hourSonar: Type 2040 bow, Type 2041 flank, unknown towed arrayArmament: 6 21 inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes (18 Nux torpedoes) Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the agesEdited by: Zirandorthel  at: 8/11/05 17:19

What world-class genius moved this here, where I can't edit it?The examples of the Vanhal-class should be the Ballybridge and the Clondalkin, I read the unit thread wrong.. Wil Nider to the HyperboreansEoin to the restZirandorthel to the ages
