So, how about holding the duke title in commission? 1/3 to each minor house head. The right to exercise the office could either rotate when there is a new Kaiser, or after a certain amount of time. We would all get the title Duke Commissioner.

I was thinking something longer than just one month; but that's a personal preference. Whatever works for the rest of you is fine.

As for holding the title in commission - isn't that what we're already doing with the rotation? Each household head is still a Duke in their own rights, but the actual confederation head would rotate among them. If we want to differentiate who is holding the confederation head position from among the others, then I suppose we could adopt a different (e.g. Duke Magnus) title.

We get one exercising Duke, not three. There is just one title, hence the 1/3rd
thing. It would be weird and fun.

Mike explained it to me last night. I like it.. it's nice and confusing!

1 Kaiser's reign would be about 3 months. And could be acceptable. While a house holds the title they can move it around among their house, name "heirs" as long as they control it. When we get a new Kaiser the title would be active for another house.

So, 3 Duke Commissioners, but one of them is the Ruling Duke Commissioner.

And I'm not sure I'm keen on Yardis anymore. I think I'd prefer something fresh. So we aren't just making Yardistan again.

CONTRACT OF CONFEDERATION

BETWEEN

HOUSE TOSHA-STRAYLIGHT,
HOUSE MORTIS, and
HOUSE ANNEXIS

1. Our respective Houses will enter into a confederation to form a Major House, named the House of Yardis.

2. House Tosha-Straylight surrenders its Major House status to the confederation, along with the title of Duke.

3. The constituent Houses shall remain autonomous Minor Houses within House Yardis, and will aim to cooperate regarding various matters.

4. The title of Duke shall belong to the confederated House and shall be held with equal share by the three constituent House heads.

5. One constituent House head will exercise the office of Duke at any given time, and may through inheritance or otherwise pass zir share of the title within his constituent House.

6. The right to exercise the office of Duke shall pass to the next Duke Commissioner at the beginning of each new Kaiseral reign.

7. The order of rotation between the constituent Houses shall be;
a. House Tosha-Straylight
b. House Annexis
c. House Mortis

8. Nothing in this contract shall be construed to imply that there will be three Dukes in House Yardis. There will only be one title, held in three equal parts by the constituent House heads.

What the hell am I gonna do with power and glory? It's not like I could be Kaiser. No one wants that and I have other citizenships anyway. I'd rather not being a voting member of the Landsraad, that's always been a pain and I'm certainly no legislator. I'll have the praetorship and Asantelian, that's plenty.

Looks like a solid draft. That being said...

House Mortis is having some reservations about that, due to the matter we discussed about such a reign. Having been the House to have the Kaisership that created this house system, we want certain...certainties that the house system will remain in place and in prominence under the next Kaisership. I still feel the House system has much potential, even if I did try to push it a little to far with the whole Succession thing(which I admit). I would support strengthening a feudal structure to the House system, and don't wish to see a return to a Territory/Land centric structure.

Yeah... I can't find you objecting to this plan anywhere. I saw some concerns voiced elsewhere about joining Kalir, but no outright objections. And we can still pursue are own agenda. Such as the restoration of the proper flag.
