Um...planning on going somewhere Erik?

Anywho...I think both would be fine choices. :) But since I am not incredibly active I am probably not the best judge.

Hey, you're active enough. I'm not sure the House could handle my personality though. :p

Gladiator-style battle between Harvey and Malliki. GO!

(Actually still considering this... I wasn't really expecting a new Head of House anytime soon.)

I'm not going anywhere. but I may lay low for a time. So I need an hier if I die. And who's my Emissary if I choose to go really low?

Sigh... no Jadie for a week and half...

Well, as far as emissaries go, Malliki is already Steward of the House, so that one's logical enough. But for heir... hmmm...

Harvey? You have any response to this?

Yes, the Emissaryship should be mine I think, due to Stewarding. The question is if Harvey can represent the majority opinion of the House since he holds pretty different views on certain things. Also, weren't you leaving the House a moment ago, and now you want to be heir? Weird.

If I wanted to leave, I would be left, not starting threads to try to work things out.

Could be. My first point still stands though. Can you represent the majority view of the House?

I suppose that depends on what the majority thinks, does it not? We both know we disagree on some things. How about the rest of these chaps?

You and Erik are pro-house. The other three of us seem to be apathetic towards the whole thing one way or the other.

Well not that you apparently paid any attention, but yeah. I talked the economic thing over with Andreas and Scott wants to make moves to appease those that don't support the house system.

How about this guys. Support me for house head and I won't turn every little thing into a conversation like this one. :)

I tend not to hold forth on things unless I feel extremely strongly about them, or at least about what other people are saying about them, so my lack of stated opinion on the Houses is not so much a matter of apathy as about me being a wallflower. :p

Broadly speaking, I remain pro-House, in that I have not yet seen an argument that convinces me that it's a fundamentally bad thing. I feel that, if carried out properly, it should still be more flexible than the Duchies were, and capable of generating more interest in the nation. I, personally, find more reasons to be active in Shireroth now than I have in quite a long time, and the House system is either the cause of or a serious contributor to most of them.

That said, I think there may be room for further revision, if the depth of feeling against the Houses is still strong. Andreas has made a rather reasoned call for constructive effort in that direction, and the new Kaiser has suggested something similar in his inaugural speech. I don't mind if the heir to our House has misgivings about the House system, so long as whoever it is is willing to use that to find ways to improve upon it, especially since His Niftiness has also made it clear that the House system is going to be sticking around in some form for the forseeable future.

House or Duchy, it doesn't matter much to me at the moment. However, the right people with the right talk could convince me to favor either one.

And the same goes for Malliki versus Harvey. The right people with the right talk could convince me to favor either one.

I appreciate the confidence, or at least the lack of opposition, but pretty sure Erik made his decision on this one a while ago.

Actually, I got distracted and never decided. No one seems really strongly pulled either way, so the lack of controversy indicated it wasn't that big a deal. And my angst subsided.
