Why? It is somewhat traditional that the side in something of a bad position in a war tends to surrender.

I feel like letting them give their countries to others would be hugely unbalanced. If someone just didn't feel like playing they could double the size of their friend's country at a stroke.I am actually following a real rule in the Diplomacy rulebook about surrendering here, and so far I think it's worked pretty well.

The following people can build/disband the following units this winter on your unoccupied home supply centers. If you have surrendered, I will be disbanding your units for you, so no worries. Please send orders to my email by Sunday night.Quote:ANTICA: 4 new units!ATTERA: 0 new unitsBABKHA: Lose 2 unitsGOTZBORG: 1 new unitKARNALI: 0 new unitsNATOPIA: 2 new units*SHIREROTH: Lose 5 units!STORMARK: 0 new unitsTREESIA: 1 new unitNatopia, I'm going to let you build in Micronia if you want even though the Gotzborg fleet is there, because I made Steven a similar concession earlier. But this is the last time. From now on, if you want to build in Micronia, you'll need to tell the Gotzborgers to get out.

Antica can actually only build two units. As well, it's kindo of stupid that you are simply allowing people in bad positions to merely surrender. Perhaps you should allow people to give their countries to other people if they do not want it. No, by "others" I mean "other people outside of the game that want to play." Not the actual people already in the game. The thing with that is that when someone surrenders, it's proly because they're in an unwinnable position, and if someone else were to take that from them they'd proly not have much fun.Besides, I'd like to see this game end quicker rather than slower.
