Fall 1902 - Age of the Stalemate

The highlight of the season is the troop pileup in Rumania, wherein Austrian and Turkish forces very nearly manage to conquer the land from Russia... except, Austria has a slight accounting error and leaves its new tanks at the factory door instead of submitting an order for them, allowing the three-province defense to just succeed. Turkish forces stuck south of the Bosphorus wonder where to go, and the navy decides to sail to Armenia; meanwhile the other half of Austria's forces heads north, and Russia's northern navies have been commandeered for pleasure cruises.

In the west, Burgandy enjoys the attention of three nations, as France and Germany try to move in simultaneously, the former with domestic and the latter with English support. The bump caused by this compounds in the south foiling two Italian moves and one French one. Speaking of the south, Italy either just likes Africa or intends to drive its tanks over fourteen kilometers of ocean, as they make one of the more unlikely moves in the game by heading from Tunis to North Africa with an army. Also their Tyrrhenian fleet heads for the Gulf of Lyon without opposition as nobody else has navies anywhere in the vicinity.

France decides its sudden concern over the safety of Brest was unnecessary and that it can trust England not to invade; England declares its trustworthiness by immediately invading Brest. England also makes it into the North Sea by way of support from Norway, but not without incident as the combined forces have to push back the German fleet attacking from Denmark. Germany has more success heading into Ruhr, unopposed but keeping the locals honest anyway with support from Holland.

Orders for next turn are due Tue Dec 8 12:00:00 UTC 2009, or later if I'm taking a nap.
No-one should be without a parasol, Sirocco.
