Winter 1904

And so the great war between Turkey and Germany finally begins. Germany launched two major offenses; one aimed at Budapest and the other at Rumania. The invasion of Rumania was foiled when the Russian support got entangled with a turkish offensive in Sevastapol, but though they failed to gain the province, the Germans did manage to disrupt the Turkish support line enough to take Budapest. With no avenues of retreat available, the Turkish force there was completely destroyed.

Germans also managed to reinforce the Italian province of Trieste, defending it against a supported Turkish attack that wasn't strong enough to break through. And they conquered the last remaining French territory, eliminating them from the game officially in 6th place.

Though they definitely did not win the opening hand, it wasn't all bad news for the Turks; their naval movement in the south managed to take the undefended Italian province of Naples to make up for the loss.

Off in their own little world, England makes one of the most complicated (and, at least in my opinion, extremely questionable) moves of the game, double convoying an army all the way to the extremely key territory of North Africa. They also convoyed over an army to Tunis. Was this really easier than just taking the supply center with a nearby fleet? Maybe England plans on forgetting Europe entirely and is planning an invasion of Egypt instead. At least they finally managed to take St. Pete after four turns of trying. Poor, poor Russians.

As a side note, Turkey, Germany, and England had at least one unit that orders were not explicitly given out for. I assigned hold orders by default, but would prefer that you actually told me you wanted the units to hold, just to make sure we're both clear on communication.

Build phase!

Austria HAS BEEN ELIMINATED FROM THE GAME.
England can build THREE units.
France HAS BEEN ELIMINATED FROM THE GAME.
Germany can build TWO units.
Italy (civil disorder) can build ZERO units.
Russia can build ZERO units.
Turkey can build ONE unit.

Builds are due Wednesday at 9 PM American / 2 AM Brit / 3 AM Borkbork, and the next turn will proceed when all have been recieved.

This also seems like a decent time to point out to all players that may have forgotten that the game ends when a single country controls 18 supply centers. At it stands, Germany has 12, England 9, Turkey 8, and Russia 2. Civil disorder Italy controls 3.

The host will feel angst if the two day time limit happens and updating this game happens even later in the night than it does right now.
