We are in store for some big changes here in Kildare!

A new law has been passed in the Seanad, creating an award and the title of Mr. Kildare. Let's see how long it takes me to win this award. My guess: 2 months.

Everyone is trying to buy the Barony of Lumina's Light, but at the moment it isn't clear who is going to come out on top. It appears, however, that many of the bidders left the auction after discovering that they would have to change their ducal residency to be a Baron in Kildare.

And Dutch Jonas has pardoned the Chairman of the KNA and simultaneously thanked his Kildarian subjects who have not rebelled.
I figure that the only reason he let me off the hook was because of me dropping out of the war due to lack of time.
Who knows? Jonas does...

Should I ask Ari to give us a separated newsbox for Kildare? Instead of Malarbor, 'Payne says...'

But I like 'Kildare says...' a little bit better. I'm not to crazy about my last name.

Or 'Lumina says...'. I think it's time that Malarvor's mother gets her own medium to bring news to the Kildarians.

That brings me back by an old plan of me: a new lay-out for the Kildarian subfora. A lay-out with these colours and buttons, but with another newsbox, another banner and probably another background (but what should replace the current picture?).

That's going to cost, in the order of several hundred erb. Especially since I'm probably going to be duplicating the same kind of thing for the SC and then I'll have to actually know what I'm doing .

I'm not going to be working on this today, though, I'm on a sleep phase shift gambit and would probably end up deleting the whole board or something if I actually touched code today. But feel free to work on a banner, background, etc. while you wait.

So what is this new background and banner you had in mind? May I see it?

If I had them, yes. But I haven't found the time to do anything yet. An idea about the background would be more than welcome.

Well just a thought, but the banner that says Dutchy of Kildare looks like it has a flaming forest in the background. How about that as this forum's background? It would be very unique.

Ari, could you already create this lay-out without our newsbox (so we can see how it looks at the top)? A background is coming.

And a possible background (instead of the fire, red clouds with the coat of arms).

Taking into account that I'll apparently have to go through the forums one by one to set the style on each, and that I'll also have to work on the board code a bit afterward to make it nice... let's go with 600

I'll have to look into the caching configuration on the background image... it's pretty huge... also replace the background color (currently pure white) with something less bright for the loading period

P.S. I think Ari deserves the Mr. Kildare award, so I'll go nominate him in the Seanad.
