Some Notes on Goldshirerithian Culture

Post by AryezturMejorkhor »

After some research, I've concluded that the base southern Goldshirerithian culture is to be a forest based, tribal agricultural chiefdom type society. You can find examples of this type of culture in the Celts and Germans before Roman influence. I've also looked at Japan before the influence of Chinese civilization (Jomon Period) and Ainu culture. Other examples can be found in the jungle paradise the Vedic Aryans lived in around 1000 BC as shown in the Mahabharata and Ramayana and the Native Americans of the eastern woodlands. Also think Rivendell or Lorien if you're familiar with LOTR.

Northern Goldshirerithian culture is primarily an alpine society. Think Switzerland- that's almost a perfect fit.

Goldshire is the combination of these two streams- mountain and forest.

This culture is the base of many Shirerithian norms and cultural peculiarities. Other important features of Goldshirerithian culture include hills (and their associated minerals such as GOLD), and the moon. Some coastal areas have their own subcultures as do remote mountains and forests, which preserve the original elements in a pure form.

Goldshire then began to become more advanced and "civilized," partly due to its own effort and partly through the influence of other parts of Shireroth which it then became part of. Shireroth and its culture have numerous resemblances to Medieval Europe.

Aryezi culture can be said to be a hybrid of Classical Civilization, East Asian Civilization, and South Asian Civilization which has then been modernized and faintly Westernized. This culture was brought to Khorze where it combined with the southern Goldshirerithian culture and gave rise to the Khorzean culture. Khorzean culture then contributed further towards Goldshirerithian culture.

Eventually, a standard emerged with all these various elements: Goldshirerithian culture. Its primeval elements are forest and mountain, then went through a medieval stage, and finally a modern-classical stage. As such, Goldshire has retained elements from all of these stages.

----

That, in essence, is an outline of what I have planned and what I wish to elaborate on. Questions and comments are appreciated.

The religion also is a mixture of all those elements. Spirit worship, nature worship, Shirerithian religions, and Arya as well as the numerous pantheons of the various religions that arrived in Goldshire from elsewhere.

These villages, no evidence of a stockade and every indication that the houses themselves will burn easily.

This is good. :evil

Ours is such a peaceful territory with such a magnificent army that stockades are deemed unnecessary.
