[TUC] The Treesian Unorthodox Church

Post by Wil Nider »

Brother and Sister Rothians,

For too long have your eyes been dimmed against the truth, and Truth is a tenet most sacred to the gods of Treesia and indeed the whole of Tirlar. For how can one truly contemplate the beauty of the Universe without the knowledge that one stands upon those parts of Spedomhain that were conjoined with Eiseamlar? How can one look into a fire and know what it is without the certainty that Tineon Firelord or one of his emissaries dwells in every spark and flame? How can one fully hear a baby's cry, smile and wonder at the miracle of birth without recognising that Laguna the blind Mother Of Us All smiles with us? I say it is impossible!

The time has come for your eyes to be opened to the Truth, to the love which suffuses the Universe and to the perils we must face if we are to preserve both Truth and Love. It shall not be quick, and it will not be easy, but the true faith will be brought to you, and you may grasp it or be lost.

May the Sun bless you with her warmth, and the Earth keep you in her embrace

Truth and Love are Abbas Namvari, just like you, me, and Yuri.
Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count
:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

I would like to affirm my faith in the Treesianist faith.

May I inquire how a Treesian funeral is carried out?

It's just "Treesian" faith, or Unorthodoxy, not Treesianist.

Funerals are very simple affairs. Because of the belief that nothing is destroyed, only changed from one form to another, Treesian funerals are truly more for bidding farewell to a friend's spirit, which departs for Tirbal. The body is often absent, buried without much formality, although for great leaders there may be a procession so that the commonfolk and their allies and enemies can see for certain that their lord/friend/foe is dead.

There are accounts of the person's life, how they dealt with the trials and tribulations that were put before them, what children they had if any, and what kind of death they had. Most importantly, this chant is offered up:

Farewell sweet traveller
May Shetún's silvery ship bear you on your way
To Ennabruk's gilded shores
Where we will one day meet again[/ii5av3gwq]

Shetún (pronounced Hyeytoon) being a servant of Mordicc, the captain of the Ship of Souls.

Hey, Eoin, don't mess with the old death chant. That was a good death chant. This one sounds kind of bland and sanitized.

If anyone is still around ... I have a boon to beg of thee.

In Shelsa City Centre in Gralus there is a temple district, and I've established basic temples for the Novatainian religions and for the other major micronational religions. For all those founded outside of Gralus, I've included a link to much more information about them, so if any Gralan is interested, they can properly convert. I was going to create a Treesian Unorthodox thread, for no collection of nifty micronational religions would be complete without it, but I realised I was lacking a post or wiki page detailing the religion in detail, or with links to more information. If someone could provide such a link to me (and basic details about temple design for the description) I would be much obliged.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).
