On the fall of Treesia

The following text was brought to my attention by a Hyperborean scholar who had received it from the nephew of a deranged sagart of Carding. The sagart, exiled from his Treesian home, had wandered the world for a few years in his extreme old age, collecting various prophecies, talking on several occasions with the Oracle of Yaanek, and stealing old books from libraries across the micronational world. After his mysterious death at the age of one hundred eleven, his papers went with the rest of his meager estate to his nephew, who gave them to the Hyperborean, who edited and translated them until each of the small but precious bits of sense had been wrung out.THE HOUSE OF DORNAN AND THE HOUSE OF ERION. The Lord Erion of Sark, cursed be his name and expunged from the memory of all beneath the Heavens until it becomes the babbling of children and the very languages in which it has been spoken are effaced from the countenance of Time, has been a Scourge to Life and a Devourer of Righteousness. "Pkah!" said Mandorel from on high, "let something be done with this scoundrel!" So Leaigh blessed the Osoroth Spear that Salio threw earthward, and Scarr of the House Dornan found it and raised it. Said Mandorel "Let his house be christened with the blood of stars, and be forever twined to the battle against evil." So it was. THE LORE OF THE DARK ORCHID. It is well known to all how the Child was released, and how through the flight of the pretender-Baron Tomas, may the Earth itself open and swallow any reference to his being in the flames that have long since engulfed his soul, it was brought in the form of a gemstone to the Babkhan Prince. And how that Babkhan Prince has since been under the Child's possession, wearing it in the form of a sigil upon his breast and coaxed by its urgings to invade Treesia and curse all that is right and true. And how it was the Line of Dornan that produced an heir to meet the challenge and save the world. And how that diabolic sigil has been passed through the lines of Babkhan royals since that point, appearing to them as the pagan god Zurvan and urging each against the Treesians in successive waves.THE ORCHID RELEASES ERION. It was due to Sir Calvin of Vembria, servitor of the Orchid and covert vassal of the Princes of Demons, that Lord Erion, may the sun sink to earth and consume him until even his ashes have been burnt into ashes, was released upon the world once more. And that first taking over the body of the Chancellor Iain he slew the last of the Line of Dornan and believed his eternal enemies removed from the world, Aeon grant that such shall never be so.THE BLESSING OF THE STARS. But through the destiny of his line, even as the body of the last Dornan perished his soul was shunted into stardust and reborn as Zirandorthel, the Golden Darkness that destroys the night, and with his help Erion was conquered in accordance with the prophecy and the Line of Dornan restored to the throne and to corporeal being.THE LEGACY OF ASHES. Lo, Erion rechannels himself through other means and founds the diabolic cult of Ybrekk, choking the Barony off from its lifeblood of Tirbal and chasing the men of Haogain from the Isle. And when the people turn against him, through the mighty magic of Lest he stages a false apocalypse, calling down fire from the sky in great sheets and summoning the Elder Demons to delude the populace into believing that the banished gods had returned. The Churchmen died in what they were certain was martyrdom, and the Order of the March Breeze was slain to the last man. When the ashes cleared, Erion, once again in Iain's body, declared himself overlord of all Treesia, and the populace, still merely surprised that the world still existed and uncertain whether the gods or demons had triumphed, assented. He immediately aided the Prince of the Babkhans in enslaving the country, so that the last relics of its culture were annhilated.THE FLIGHT OF THE ROYAL LINE. The last Baron Dornan was aided by the gods and escaped to Hyperborea. There, he took the Hyperborean name Niirus and founded the line of Tinenetuwar. This line married into the Hyperborean line of Kalir, in whose veins flowed the blood of Raynor.A THESIS. It is thus my belief that the current Kaiser of Shireroth, Yarad I, combines both the Shirerithian and the Treesian royal lineage, and with the latter the blessing of the gods and the duty of standing against the darkness whenever it should arise. Yarad is rightful ruler of both countries, and is recognized as Ard-Baron by what fragments of the true Treesian Church remain uncorrupted by the taint of Ybrekk and are not the lackeys of the darkness.
