Imperial United sign Carlao

Imperial United have confirmed that they have officially signed 33 year old defender Marcel Carlão from Tellian side Unione Romero Sportiva. The Tellian defender, who was dropped from the Romero first team squad for the remainder of the season, is believed to have been on the transfer list following manager Angelo Perrotta's decision to bring in younger players into the team, with Carlão effectively losing his place to 19 year old Yakov Cohen.

Carlão is believed to be the first of the announce signings that the Robins have under wraps this week. The former Romero Sport, Crécy and Franciscania defender spoke of his joy to be part of the Imperial United team for the upcoming season.

Speaking in his native language to the media, he basically said, "I am pleased to be part of Imperial United and hopefully with a new league in Shireroth and a new team, we can progress. I am delighted to be part of the project."

Carlão has never been capped for either Alexandria or Tellia, and after a few seasons may become eligible for Shireroth. However advancing years may seem to go against him as at 33, he probably will not be at his peak. The deal is believed to be at around Cr 5million.
