MMFC Announces National Team Signings

In a well covered press conference today, Mortis Mercatoria FC's general manager and director Malliki Tosha announced the signing of National Team central defender Nuno Santos Gomez, 26, and defensive midfielder Tor Svensson, 27, on free transfers. The two players had seen their contracts expire and signed with MMFC for free.

"- This is a real golden opportunity for us", Malliki Tosha said. "These two players have an experience level that vastly exceeds any of the current players on the squad. These signings go straight into the starting eleven."

The players, who both participated in the FMF World Cup in 2008 as well as qualification games in 2009 and 2010, expressed their excitement on being signed by MMFC.

"- We haven't played in Shireroth for quite some time, but now with the new league and a serious effort by MMFC to field a strong squad, it was natural for us to return to our home country", Tor Svensson said.

On the question of further signings by MMFC, general manager Mr. Tosha replied; "We are always looking to strengthen the squad. If an opportunity presents itself, we will surely be there."

Good signings. Nuno Santos Gomez is a solid defender and Tor Svensson can play as an anchor between the defence and midfield, marking and going into big challenges as well as picking a pass.
