*Crackle*

Post by Shyriath »

In the ancient halls of the B0O0O0/\/\ist Temple, there lies a dusty and disused fane off of the main corridors. The interior is dark, the altar empty, the pews in disrepair. A tattered banner hung from the ceiling, depicting a bird's talons surrounded by flame, is moth-eaten and faded. Rows of candles, seated in niches along the walls, remain unlit and half-melted.

From the hall outside, a figure enters, swathed in the heavy winter robes of a Priest, and walks down the center aisle toware the altar. As if summoned, flame springs forth from the many candles, and the room fills with dim, smoky light. The Priest, in robes revealed to be bright red, stands before the altar, and reverentially places there what appears to be a paper bucket filled with drumsticks. Taking a small red bottle from the folds of his robe he then anoints the fried poultry limbs with the liquid inside, an elixir of the Minor God Tabascus, Lord of Chile Peppers.

"Oh Great One," he intones, "may this sacrifice please Thee, and may the holy fire of Thy spiciness cleanse and consecrate this shrine anew, and put fire into the hearts and digestive tracts of all who enter. Praise B'caw."

Then, placing his hand upon the tasty offering, the Priests causes it to go up in flame, and it instantly is reduced to ashes in a flash of heat and light. And behold! Now there is a sound, as if all the host of the Ascendi had gathered together to sing in heavenly chorus... assuming the Ascendi had been turned into chickens... and, behind it, tolling as does a bell, the sound of a rooster crowing, and so great and rich and triumphant is the sound that it seems as if surely the King of Roosters himself had made it.

Smiling in satisfaction, the Priest exits, praising in his heart Almighty B'caw and His works.

*The Priests of Mors watch this sacrifice of flesh and flame with silent approval. Nodding to the Priest of B'caw as he exits.*

I'd have to go with:
Sakat: The Squid-God of Time (patron God of historians)

B'Caw! Marvelous. Thank Goodness! :jadie

I do not ask for a priesthood, as I regard He Who Set Off the Big Bang, Mightiest of Explosions that Continues to This Day as God.

But I'm strangely warm at heart about seeing B'Caw's devoted.
