I've started a discussion in Batavia on the matter.

Personally I think Harvey is a good choice. There is a chance however that some Batavians want to see another Dutch person as the Secundus.

However, I do say that if any reasonable candidate also wants the position, I will very likely drop out of the race. I've lost one too many elections in the past while to see it through to the bitter end again.

I'd rather see a dutch Secundus, to keep the balance between the English and Dutch nations, but I don't know if anyone is available or able to do so.
Since the Republic is new here, and i'm almost unknown to the most of you, my chances to win would be minimal, so I don't think I will stand up for the job.

The point is that there isn't a single Dutch micronationalist that has a serious chance against Harvey. Jonas is sort of the most famous Dutch micronationalists in nations like Shireroth, Nelaga, Stormark etc. After Jonas there is a large empty space and after that there are just some people like you and me who show up here once in a while to discuss some matters on behalf of their nation.

Anyway, it looks like most Batavians support Harvey.

Of course there are. Just look at the big country in the north of you. Stormark. They may not be Dutch-speaking, but several of their citizens are from the Benelux region, speaking a Dutch language. It was from there we took one of the justices to the Court (Gudrun Eriksdotter-Vesteralen), and of course we have the Harald person there too, speaking Dutch more fluently than he would ever speak English.

I think you're right on this one. Eriksdotter-Vesteralen is not really known at this point in time, but as the court gains importance (that is hypotetical though) we might just get to know this person better and find that we could give her (I believe we are talking about a she or am I really wrong on this one?) a more important position.

Furthermore Harald is a well known person and suitable of handling a job as Secundus, I believe. He just wasn't the first one I thought of when talking about a Dutch person, because I only counted micronationalists active in Dutch nations in. Anyway, you're right.

Batavia will however not nominate another candidate and will support Harvey.
