Pay the owner of the shop (currently I'm the only approved shop (magic) and Mike's about to get approved for land). They then pay a large portion of that to the Treasury.

If you want something that's currently unavailable (like everything) you can either wait, or pay the crown directly. Either way, you should be paying the SCIRA/SNARL point cost of the item.

By the by, it is a perfectly legal loophole that orbat sellers can buy their own type of units at cost (that is, pay the required amount to MiniTrade for the raw materials, but "pay themselves" for the other features and so effectively pay nothing). It's a lucrative business opportunity. We still have Navy, Air, Advanced, Medieval and 18th Century open ....

So, am I allowed to sell stuff then? I can't remember if I got the final approval or not.

I think Prodigy approved you. Might as well start a shop so I have some competition ...

Hmm... are Paratroopers Land or Air? If they're Land, I'm your guy. If not, I'm not. I'm opening my shop today.

Paratroopers are Land with special training, like Special Forces or Marines etc.

The only thing is you need transport, which is actually free in most Charters (transport helicopters, boats, trains and so on), but protecting them costs money. Otherwise you'll just get shot down before your paratroopers have a chance to paratroop.

Noob here (me) ... would like to know if there is a link to an explanation of each. Cost of these raw materials, how the "other features" are added and the cost of doing that, what items are in each catagory (Navy, Air, Advanced, Medieval, 18th Century), which of these are still available?

I wish to look into this business opportunity.

Well, the Charter presented shops as a way to make money - but obviously such huge takings can't all go to one person. To get around this, each broad category of units must pay some money to the crown, which represents the "raw materials" it takes. For an infantry, that's 0.9. If Orbat sellers sell normal infantry (ie cost 1), they only make 0.1 per infantry. If they sell Hyperborean Paladins (2), they make 1.1 per infantry. If they create the appropriate backstory for a monastery of highly trained combat veterans, carefully detail all the extensive and expensive equipment they have, etc, and sell them for 5, they make 4.1 per person sold. So there is an incentive for the person to design powerful units because they get more of a return (hope that answers your question, Austi).

Prodigy - the extra money on top of raw materials goes to the orbat seller. So if you're buying from yourself, you may pay 10 for an infantry, but since 9.1 of that goes to you, it's as if you've only paid 0.9, no matter how exciting the unit is. That make sense?

I´m getting an idea of how all this is done. At least you´ve pointed me to the puddle even if at this point the water appears a bit muddy to me.

I want to be considered for a Navy shop, pending an answer on a post I´m about to make in Kildare.

Austi, have you fought in recwars before (preferably under SNARL)?

Nope, never been in RecWar myself.

I remember a time in the beginning of my "micronational career" when I advocated that such a system be developed, but I was hounded to death for that opinion at the time and there was no one who agreed with me then.

Anywho, at this time I´m only looking to open the Naval Training Station and the Navy Shop.

As a side note, there are other things I advocated when I first started in micronations too - some of which are now happening and some of which aren´t.

Ah, this was after your time (I get confused about Shirithian timelines).

Well, we certainly need more orbat sellers. I'll let Prodigy assess your military knowledge, but from the Minitrade end, it's approved.

Well, I don't see any reason he has to have military knowledge to sell military units. It might help if he knows what he's trying to sell, but I'll take it for granted that he does. Otherwise, OrBat sellers don't need to have OrBats themselves if he doesn't want to. Approved! :thumbsup

Thank you to both of you.

As I have permission from the Duke of Kildare to open the Naval Training Base, I wish to handle Navy products.
I will soon get the base open, earn some more money, and then make my first purchase. I intend for it to be a ship. I will let you know what kind when I get that far, right now I´m thinking aircraft carrier.

Where shall my shop be located and when the time comes how do I get it opened.

In the MiniTrade Forum there is a company sub-forum. Open a thread there. But be sure to clearly post all your sales in this SCIRA forum.
