After the wild success of the other forum game I reintroduced to Shireroth - the Word Association, now 40 pages and going strong - I have decided it is time to bring in another. It's a personal favourite from when I was smaller. I haven't tried it on a forum, but I think it will work well. It's called Fortunately, Unfortunately.

Basically, after the starting phrase, you take it in turns saying "Fortunately x" then "Unfortunately y" then "Fortunately z" and so on. e.g:

Russia invaded Georgia.
Fortunately, the US noticed.
Unfortunately, they didn't care much.
Fortunately, Russia decided to pull out anyway.

Got it? I'll start us off.

Ayreon was Kaiser of Shireroth.

Fortunately, he still is.

Unfortunately, he will not have the time to devote himself to his dream of being an Olympic ski champion.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help the fact that the entire Russian government is one guy. Guess who.

Unfortunately, the idea of people being simple bastards is more harrowing than the idea of satanic evil.
