Twice was to girls I was dating IRL. The 3rd was a political marriage to Jadie of all people so I could be Kaiser. That actually was a great arrangement. She handled foreign and domestic PR, I did the administration work. She was the face everyone loved and kept people happy...etc. I just did what I like, laws and detail work. It was a well working partnership.

You picked a good approach. Me and my wife were married on the same date that we met, approximately a year from our engagement.

I remember my best man was late - the cake was too big and had to rescued by the gay guy from Alabama who was the only person with a mini-van and know idea how the town was laid out (pre-Google maps), and had to be accompanied by a native guide.

With all the delays, I ended up having to do about a half-hour of stand-up, and when I ran out of material (and breath), we threw open the buffet to keep the guests from starting a small riot...........

It all worked out pretty well, (except I got shafted on the tiny piece of cake I got). But seventeen years and counting, things worked out OK.
