It's finally Summer!

Post by Kaiser Ometeotl I »

Where I live. We've been stuck in the low 70's all "summer", with a thick marine layer at nights, late into the day. Finally, though. It's summer. It's almost 70 and it's not even 9 yet. It's to be 103 today... and I have to work.

Oh well, I got to bike in 100 degrees yesterday.

I knew a fellow who had lived in California for a long time, and then had moved to Florida. I asked him if he was happier with hurricanes than earthquakes.

He told me earthquakes were easier, because they were over in seconds, and there was no media circus for two weeks ahead of one.

And we don't get them as often. At least not the big ones.

You lucky bastard. It's been boiling hot in the rest of the country for months. The heat has finally broken here - much needed relief!

The broiler is still going where I am. I've been working lots outdoors too, so the humidity and triple-digit temperatures have becoming routine for me. Once I got used to it, I actually started thinking I might be able to live and work in the tropics. (I am not in the tropics.) However the frequent coups and rampant inflation might be an issue...

Not to mention the El Presidente who was elected for an infinite number of five-year terms in a rigged election.

Rule of thumb: In the end, the guys with the guns (the military) usually win. (If there is no organized military then the guys with the most guns win, and they are usually a guerrilla-type group with some popular support.)

True. Though if everyone else has guns too. Makes things a little harder to take over.

And now it's back to the 70's..

74->99->105->99->74.

Gotta love the instability to the whether now. We used to have stable summers.

I have loved this summer...but I am also not a hot weather person...

I mean c'mon much easier for you to stay in that tux for the wedding since the weather was nice right? If it had been 103 everyone would have been *dying!!*
