Baron Payne Arrives in...Sermolot, Kildare

Post by W.Payne »

To get from Norfolk to Sermolot, Baron Payne had bought a cozy little yacht. The ride took quite a while, and so Baron Payne was a little late getting to Sermolot.

He and his party where now outside of the palace of Dutch/Baron Jonas. The guards preceeded to let the group in and Dutch Jonas was in the courtyard ready to greet them.
After exchanging greetings, Dutch Jonas showed them to his huge dining room, where they all sat at a large round table and where served a lavish meal while the Dutch told them of the history of Sermolot...

It was busy in Grace Palace, the political centre of the Senechal (Baron) of Sermolot. The old palace, rebuild from the ruins, was once more an important place where important nobles met the leader of the Baonial Empire.
The servants wandered around with paintings, food and books.
"I'm redecorating it," told Senechal Jon'Kur I to William. He took a bite of his meal and looked in the direction of the Baron of Halluci.
"The Baronial Empire has been built by myself, while I was Baron of the Barony of Antya. Antya was what currently is Sermolot and Blackrock. However, I wanted to have something of my own, and united the most important Apollian counties in this barony. With the purpose to slowly develop these counties and re-expand. As you probably have seen, the religion of mine and your barony differs: the most people here are Soloralists and we are proud of our Apollonian heritage (even if Erik doesn't like this :p )!"
An officer of the Gendarmerie entered the dinning room and saluted the two gentlemen.
"Your Senechalness, my agents are ready to escort you and your guest to wherever you want."
"Excellent," responded Jon'Kur, "Shall we, lord Payne? I thought that we first could visit Apollo City, one of the oldest cities of the Sector (this is reality!). Afterwards we could visit the waterfalls of Odlum Lake. That will take some time, as we have to go by ship if we want to get there fast."

Baron Payne looked to his party, which was very excited, as was he.
"Off to Apollo City we go, and then to Odlum Lake!"

The group quickly finished off the remains of the meal, and were escorted out to a large vehicle that looked like a cross between a limo and an RV. Inside, the vehicle was spacious and fully equiped like a small house. It had two bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a den.

After sorting out who was going to sleep on the floor and who was going to sleep on the beds (William almost had to force Senechal Jon'Kur to sleep on the bed), they set off for Apollo City.

While driving through the hills, Apollo City loomed up at the horizon.
"Impressive," mumbled one of the guests who looked through the window.
"This is the only metropolis within Kildare," told Jon'Kur while he enjoyed of seeing their impressed faces.

The day spent at Apollo City was amazing. They had went to many different historical sites, and to a very large, cavernous restaurant with delicious food. That night they stayed at the Imperial Kildarian Hotel, one of the fanciest hotels in all of Kildare.

The next morning they finished visiting the many famous places in Apollo City and....

The trip in the baronial capital was over. Some of the guests had to been forced to leave the hotel, but after much nagging (and three bodyguards who helped a hand), everyone was ready to leave.
"Did you enjoy your view on the Apollo Lighthouse?" asked one of the guests, after which he got a positive response of William. A long discussion began about what was the nicest place. In the meanwhile, the car drove towards Apollytown, a smaller village in the north of Audentior.
Apollytown is a city that is the meeting place between the farmers and immigrants / city people: it's still a small town with various farm fields surrounding it. However, after having stayed some years in Apollo City, many immigrants move inland. Most of them pass Apollytown, that has been the gateway between both parts of the Baronial Empire for ages, and some even stay there. Every half hour there is a boat to the other side of the river, so we didn't have to wait long.
"I'm thinking about constructing a tunnel," whispered Jon'Kur, as like it was a secret. Finally, the boat brought everyone to the side.
"We're in New Enhasa," said the Senechal, "We can visit the largest national park of Kildare and Shireroth, or just travel to the Odlum Falls."

"How about both?" asked William. He looked back at his friends and guards for any sign of confirmation. They all nodded and said that that would be splendid.

"That would be just fine," answered Baron Jon'Kur,"but which one first?"

"The National Park of Kildare seems interesting, and then we can head over to the Odlum Falls."

And so the group called over a couple of taxis to take them to the National Park.

Neolaga National Park, as it is officially called, appeared at the horizon. As far as the eye could see, there were trees.
"Welcome in the largest national park of Shireroth," said Jon'Kur, "It stretches over northern parts of New Jasonia. The forest is even bigger and is also in Automatica and Demesos, but there are the animals and forest not protected."

William was enthralled by the parks beauty and the group spent most of the day walking on trails and watching the animals frolick. Everyone was having so much fun that the time seemed to slip away, so that when the thought of the Odlum Falls resurfaced, it was almost night time. Jon'Kur and his guards led the way to a small bed and breakfast almost in the center of the humongous park, where William and the group decided to stay one more day, to see Odlum Falls, before moving on to Modan Loch, Brookshire.

The bed and breakfast was run by a nice elderly couple, and they made the group feel truly at home. Everbody had a good nights sleep and then a wonderful breakfast before setting out to go to the Odlum Falls....

Finally, Jon'Kur is ready to leave the beautiful, vast nature park of New Jasonia. The trip brings the group at the Odlum Falls, an impressive waterfall.

"Before you leave us, William," said Jon'Kur, "We have to dinner and party!" :party
