To the citizens of Lakewest
Dear citizens of the proud, little (?) city of Lakewest,
I'm proud of you all. That you colonize territories which never have been colonised before! You will colonise, develop and promote your own city. Lake Odlum gives you access to the water. Not far from the city, there are huge woods. Use what nature gives you! But please don't consume it all in once.

From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Hear, hear!
Re: To the citizens of Lakewest
Tell us about it! This is why you don't see a road marked on the map to link Lakewest to anywhere else - far cheaper than hacking a path through that forest was to simply dig a tunnel from Destrykara!Jonas wrote:Not far from the city, there are huge woods.
Re: To the citizens of Lakewest
So we can only access the city by a cave or the river?

Best access is across the lake, by whatever form of boat is available to you, from Bray Nua. As mentioned before, sailing out of Lake Odlum in an easterly direction is recommended only in a barrel.
Don't worry, we shall build a road in due course.

Yes. My tax officers need to have the possibility to reach the city, and I prefer they don't come back in a barrel.

I like the idea of a city that can only be reachable by tunnel or ferry...

Or by air. With nothing to the east of the city but 200 miles of lake, there are definite possibilities.Gman Russell wrote:I like the idea of a city that can only be reachable by tunnel or ferry...

I forgot about the air option. Don't allow a highway to develope on the land, it is such a unique idea, if you don't use it, I will!

Very well, I accept the challenge The tunnel - which was very rough cut - will be properly developed. Road and rail connection, which reminds me, I don't see railroads marked on the official maps and I didn't trip over any rails on my way here. Am I blind? Or this a massive development opportunity for the entire Barony? The Duchy? The continent?

Brookshire had a railway constructed at one point, by Lamifo Corporation. They may have also done Elwynn. But there's no railway yet in Kildare, and if you did well in Kildare, you would probably be able to sell your rail-way building services to the other nations in the Small Commonwealth United Economy. Novatainia was certainly looking for a railway earlier, but never got one suitably developed.

Re: To the citizens of Lakewest
Indeed, Kildare never developed rail roads. To be more precisely, Kildarians are / were very old-fashioned when it comes / came to technology. I don't even remember that we use tanks in Kildarian civil wars.
You are hereby granted the right to create a rail road company for Sermolot. The Baronial Empire will give you the funds you need.
