Cultural Capital - Culturele Hoofdstad

Post by Jonas »

I propose that we elect every 6 months a Cultural Capital - Culturele Hoofdstad (a CCH). This is a bit similar project to the macronational European and American cultural capital.
Member states can nominate one or more cities. Out of the list, one city (based on its cultural development) will be chosen to get the title of CCH. I would let the SC-citizens vote.

It's a bit of a contest. The most important price is the prestige (or does someone else has another idea?).

I expect that people will look to the information and developments of the city, delivered by the representatives, instead of choosing for their own nation. A bit optimistic, yes, but not impossible.

Or you can make it impossible for citizens to vote for their own city?

And those with dual citizenship? With a lack of good luck (by having many citizenships), they aren't allowed to vote. :p

Why not make a rule that the Cultural Capital can't be in the same country more than once every five cycles? The largest nation may win the first time, but after that it'll start going to smaller countries. I think this is how they do it in real life too.

Also, six months is a long time. Maybe four months?

I support Scott's proposal. I was actually coming here to write something similar.

Well, I think Batavia will support this. If not, Jonas and I will convince the other citizens.

Bring it to the assembly as a resolution, we don't need more formality than that, do we?

Since it has no real effect. I'd be fine with a resolution. It's just an SC internal matter, and if a nation doesn't want to be included they don't vote for themselves. Or don't vote.
