Chelkran Elite Guard Outpost: Arctic Saber

Out in the wastes in the far north of Western Absentia, near the coastal ice planes, one building offers solice from the snow and ice. The Chelkran Elite Guard, at home in the Arctic environment, decided to create - arguably - the most defensible fortress on Micras. (The most furious opposition to this claim comes from the Eilte Guard based out of Chelkra and also out of Silverfang Outpost.)

Built into the side of a mountain immediately overlooking the Gantrokk Ice Planes, attackers must climb a forty foot hill at a thirty degree angle in an average of twelve feet of snow to reach the barred and locked gate. The outer walls measure an impressive twenty feet thick, with a barbican only slightly thicker between the outer and inner gates. The brushed 40/40 steel walls reflect the snow back into the face of aggressors, and foil most attempts to climb them - the defenders pour water on them every twelve hours to keep them nice and slippery. In addition, long-ranged defenses consist mostly of a dozen 210mm artillery cannons implanted directly into the mountain face that can lob up to ten miles with pinpoint accuracy - twenty with a six-inch margin of error.

External wall patrols aren't necessary, as an elaborate camera system has been wired up all around the mountain as to leave absolutely no blind spot. This is partly to let the Elite Guardsmen stay warm when they can avoid going outside - despite how much Chelkran like the cold, they can still get frostbite.

The so-called 'Frostsabers' stationed there, naming themselves after the arctic variant of the saber-toothed tiger, consist mostly of Polar Chelkran. As such, the Frostsabers also average the largest and most muscular Chelkran in the entirety of the Elite Guard. Not many Kensai are stationed at Fort Arctic Saber, but do not doubt the stealth capability of a Polar Chelkran in the snow. They have been compared to their relatives often - in a blizzard, a polar bear just needs to cover its nose and eyes and it can disappear.

Oh yes, good stuff. Out of interest is there any special training goes into that extra cost? Not that simply 7x pwnage would be so bad.

A Chelkran civilian is only 4x pwnage; the Elite Guard just have the most rigorous training program in the history of Micras. Any objections to that statement are advised to wait until they see the program for themselves, if they ask me to show them...
