919 ASC: Metzler I, last of the Metzler-Ly´Technomaezj Dynasty, dies. The Line of Metzler and the Line of Ly´Technomaezj pass to different heirs, separating again. The next Kaiser is Gaelen II (Ly´Technomaezj). (No further Kaisers of the Line of Metzler. Not sure of official explanation.)

953 ASCI dies.

954 ASC: After an extremely brief interregnum, Ari 0 (Ly´Technomaezj) ascends the throne.

964 ASC: Ari 0 dies. At the time of his death, the Ly´Technomaezj had, in one form or another, been reigning over Shireroth for over 700 years, very nearly becoming the default ruling Line. But as there was no member of the Line at this time prepared to take the throne, there was confusion and uncertainty as to who should reign next. Celestis, the head of the Line of Haiken and at the time the Steward of Shireroth, restored order by taking charge of the government . He did not claim the throne for himself, but kept the peace as Steward Celestis I until a Kaiser could be determined.

968 ASC: After four years of argument and disagreement, a compromise was reached. The Imperial Line of Mortis, descended directly from the younger son of Raynor I, had existed all throughout Shireroth´s history, but had never before claimed the throne due to the seniority of the other Lines; but with a skilled candidate available in the head of the Line of Mortis, and no other outstanding choices presenting themselves, the grim man successfully gained the Kaisership as Mortis Mercator I (better known simply as Mors I), and re-instituted the principles of alternating succession that had prevailed before the Metzler-Ly´Technomaezj Dynasty.

1039 ASC: Los I dies.

1040 ASC: Viviantia I, member of the Line of Mortis and the first Kaiseress in nearly two thousand years, ascends the throne. Her reign opens the way for a gradual increase in female claimants to the throne.

1071 ASC: Viviantia I dies.

1072 ASC: The throne is claimed by Viviantia´s son Mors II. This is a sign botncreasing stature of the Line of Mortis, and of acceptance of succession through the female line.

1085 ASC: Mors II goes missing, resulting in a paralyzation of government. The Steward, Stjepan I of the Line of Grifos, maintains order.

1089 ASC: Mors II returns and resumes his reign.

1132 ASC: Mors II dies, is succeeded by Mog I (Haiken). This Kaiser was known for a selection of odd and sometimes infuriating habits, having given away Shirerithian territory, and, perhaps more disturbing, having claimed to be a furry creature with cats´ ears and bats´ wings. Although on the face of it these seem to have been signs of madness, those close to the Kaiser insisted that he merely had a vast sense of humor.

1157 ASC: Mog I dies, is succeeded by (slain by?) Letifer I (Grifos).

1233 ASC: Letifer I dies. At the time of his death, there is no clear successor, and unhappily, no suitable Steward either. For the first time since its formation, the Landsraad is required to take direct control of the nation.

1239 ASC: A member of the Line of Grifos becomes Steward as Nikkolo I, bringing the period of direct Landsraad rule to an end. Dispute continues as to the proper heir to the throne.

1277 ASC: The young heir to the Line of Raynor reaches the age of majority, and assumes the throne as Raynor X, beginning a long and generally peaceful reign.

1428 ASC: Raynor X dies, is succeeded by Kaiseress Aure I (Steffki).

1468 ASC: Aure I dies, is succeeded by her nephew Meskan I (Steffki).

1501 ASC: Meskan I dies, is succeeded by Kaiseress Jadie I, founder of the Line of Doran. Unusually enough, this line soon develops a tradition of not only permitting membership to be transmitted through the female line, but making it the norm. All claimants to the throne coming from this Line have been female.

1559 ASC: Jadie I dies, is succeeded by Mors III (Mortis).

1644 ASC: Mors III dies, is succeeded by Wyltheow I (Grifos).

1767 ASC: Wyltheow I dies. Having not named an heir, and with no immediately obviousdidate, the Landsraad assumes direct control for the second (and, to date, the last) time.

1770 ASC: Lacrymosa II (Haiken) assumes the throne. He apparently takes inspiration from his namesake Lacrymosa I, as he proceeds to almost immediately abdicate the throne in a similar manner. His reign is the shortest recorded in all Shireroth´s history. His successor, Los II (Kalir) assumes the throne.

1857 ASC: Los II dies, is succeeded by Raynor XI (Raynor).

1978 ASC: Raynor XI dies, is succeeded by Mors IV (Mortis).

2064 ASC: Mors IV dies during an internal conflict on the Isle of Benacia, in which he maintained an interest. A Benacian custom he brought to the throne was a tradition of appending an epithet to the reign name of the Kaiser, by virtue of which he is recorded as Mors IV Nerrolar, meaning "arbiter", a reference to his role in the Lorelei dispute. He is succeeded by Ari i (Ly´Technomaezj). Continuing the tradition of his distant namesake and ancestor, he chooses a non-standard numeral for his own reign name.

2098 ASC: Ari i dies, being remembered as Ari i Kaukainen. He is succeeded by Alejian I (Grifos).

2187 ASC: Alejian I dies, being remembered as Alejian I, the Guardian. He is succeeded by Los III (Kalir).

2236 ASC: Los III dies, being remembered as Los III Radarai. He is succeeded by his son Yarad I.

2299 ASC: Yarad I dies. Unlike his immediate predecessors, he does not take an epithet. He is succeeded by Kaiseress Semisa I (Haiken).

2366 ASC: Semisa I dies, being remembered as Semisa I, the Resurrector. She is succeeded by Letifer II (Grifos).

2416 ASC: Letifer II dies. He takes no epithet, and the tradition of appending them mostly dies, other than a few isolated examples. He is succeeded by his nephew Alejian II.

2468 ASC: Alejian II dies, is succeeded by Meskan II (Steffki).

2538 ASC: The throne is seized by the usurper Nicodemus I while Meskan II is on sabbatical.

2543 ASC: Meskan II finally evicts Nicodemus from the throne and resumes his rightful plac61 ASC: Meskan II dies, is succeeded by Kaiseress Carol I (Doran).

2712 ASC: Carol I dies after a lengthy reign, and is succeeded by her daughter, who ascends the throne as Hypatia I.

2847 ASC: Hypatia I dies, is succeeded by Letifer III (Grifos).

3002 ASC: The problems occurring during Letifer´s long reign have continued to mount, and a perceived lack of action on his part inspires calls for rebellion. The founder and head of a hitherto minor Imperial Bloodline, the Line of Windsor, seizes the throne in protest under the rather lengthy name of Mahamantotarebadum I, more commonly called Mahamantot I. Despite the dubious legality of his actions, he wins great sympathy for his efforts to maintain the nation. Although Letifer remained at large, his reign is traditionally considered to have ended at this point.

3004 ASC: The head of the Line of Mortis, swearing to bring an end to the fiasco, hunts down and slays Letifer. Mahamantot I honorably abdicates the throne in his favor, and the heir is crowned Mors V. Mahamantot receives a full pardon for his actions. The ascension of Mors V, and the reassertion of Imperial power known as the Great Consolidation, are taken to mark the beginning of Shireroth´s Fourth Era.

3119 ASC: Mors V dies tragically at the hands of an escaped band of mental patients in Shirekeep while en route to the reinstatement of the Imperial Charter. Having left no clearly stated successor, his steward Jacobus Loki of the Line of Grifos assumed the throne as Loki II; however, his succession was disputed by several other candidates.

3127 ASC: In a bid to end the dispute over the throne, the Landsraad appoints Hasan I to the throne. A Babkhan by birth, the Kaiser had been adopted into the Line of Kalir.

3258 ASC: Hasan I is assassinated in Ardashirshahr. The involvement of the Khan of Vijayanagara has been generally assumed in the years since. Due to his actions during his reign, the Line of Kalir formally and ritually severed his connection to the bloodline, thereby disowning Upon his death, the throne again fell into dispute, the main claimants being the head of the grandson of Loki II (by now head of the Line of Grifos), and Ayreon, a member of the Line of Kalir, now generally accepted as the legitimate claimant.

3263 ASC: Loki ends his bid for the throne.

3322 ASC: Ayreon dies by assisted suicide, being remembered as Ayreon Stilli (the Quiet). He is the only known Kaiser not to have taken a regnal numeral. Although there was a designated heir in the person of the new head of the Line of Grifos, he was not able to immediately assume the throne. The Steward at the time, Corey I, maintained order in the interim, undoing many of Hasan´s decrees. Corey I was the founder of the Line of van der Sluijs, an offshoot of the Line of Grifos.

3340 ASC: Loki III finally ascends the throne; he maintains the faithful Corey as Steward, in which capacity the Line of van der Sluijs maintains a tradition of service to the throne for a number of generations thereafter.

3413 ASC: Loki III dies; a member of the Line of van der Sluijs succeeds him as Reynardine I, nicknamed the Fox Kaiser.

3443 ASC: Reynardine I dies; is succeeded by Agni I (Raynor). Agni I is the first Kaiser of his ancient Line not to be named in honor of Raynor I, the first Kaiser and ultimate ancestor of the Imperial Bloodlines.

3540 ASC: Agni I dies, in the words of the Khan of Vijayanagara, "in want of a memorable ending"; is succeeded by Erasmas I (Line to be determined?).

Very, very impressive!
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Notes on the above:

-Standard for date translation is the excellent ASC calendar function as embedded in this forum.

-Bold text indicates information gained from real-world source material; italic text will indicate information gained from fictional sources.

-I've gotten as far as Issue LXX of the Apollo Fireball, corresponding to 679 ASC (6/15/01), as may be guessed from the extent of the bold material.

-To try to begin a framework for things, I've expanded a bit on the reign dating for the Kaisers. In most instances, as far as cause of reign ending, I've just assumed that one Kaiser died and another succeeded, until further details are developed, researched, or made clear (abdicated, assassinated, disappeared, etc.). You'll also find some speculation of my own in there, which is all subject to change, since I'm not incredibly happy with some of it. Trying to find an adequate way to explain a moogle Kaiser, for example, was... yeah. Anyway, comments are definitely welcome.

-Note to self: Incorporate the Elwynn rebellion into timeline.

-In the case of Agni I, I never was clear on the official cause of death, hence the unsatisfying note there. I will fix that once I look into the Kaiser's Court.

-Also, does anyone know what Bloodline our esteemed current Kaiser belongs to?

Otherwise, quite spectacular. I feel very informed by this timeline.

In terms of adding fictional details in, as well as some more historical stuff, this would be good to incorporate. From memory when I last asked about the historic veracity of the document, all of the ASC events are true and reflect real life except for the Dimensional World War and:
* 531 - Dark One campaign. Pure Evil corrupts Bill Dusch, who takes over the FIoJ. Resistances forces defeat him, rescue Bill, and destroy Pure Evil in one of mankind's greatest battles against the forces of darkness.

* 595 - Infernals invade Micras. Almost all resistances forces are crushed. Jason Steffke, Erik Metzler, and Eoin Dornan form underground gurilla resistance movements.

* 596 - Beam of Hope campaign. Massive allied resistance forces recapture Jasonia and defeat the Infernal last stand at Fort Audentior. Infernals are moped up by regional forces. Sai'Kar Lum'Eth rediscovers Ptia and meets Amy and Empress there.
The Dark Age is my fictional additions for Kildare. The New Era is real history for Kildare ...

Reynardine did not die, but rather...disappeared after abdicating and wandering into the Brookshirian woods.
All righty. I've made the change in my file, so the next time I update this version it should reflect that. (Since Erik seemed to lean toward Agni I dying of old age, I have also made a similar change for him.)

Yes, I've got a copy saved on my computer. I do intend to draw upon it as well, but I'm sort of working my way through sources one at a time in compiling this timeline. Knowing me, I'll lose my place if I try to do several at once.
