Goldshire has been offered to us by it's current/former duke Leo Fenrir.

The Couincil his hereby open to debate as to either accept this and cause a backlash from the citizens of goldshire, or to decline it.

While I would love to get Ynnraile (and will never stop trying),

a) the dissolution of Goldshire was illegal
b) the gifting of Ynnraile will likely be retracted now that Leo has abdicated and someone less Elwynnese on the throne
c) does the word Imperial Smackdown mean anything to you?

Therefore, I would just let this be, sad to hear loss of Leo, yadayadayada, strong behind our Goldshirithian allies, blah blah, etc.

The Ynnraile part of the decree was legal its just the dissolution clause that falls down. Let's claim it while there is still some confusion.

Only the specific clause regarding the dissolution of the duchy is negated by higher law as being ultra vires. The part concerning Ynnraile was perfectly valid and Elwynn happily accepts and appreciates this kind gesture.

His Grace the Duke of Goldshire, as was, did generously gift the barony of Ynnraile to the Duchy of Elwynn amongst other actions, and while certain of these may have been negated by Imperial Law it is only that specific clause regarding the dissolution of the duchy which cannot be implemented, the remainder, the abdication, the appointment of Harvey Steffke as Warden of Khorze & Parvatvana and the ceding of Ynnraile to Elwynn were entirely legal, being compliant with the Codex Aureus, and the sincerely held wish of Leo Fenrir who is a well regarded citizen.

I therefore petition your Majesty to uphold the ceding of Ynnraile from Goldshire to Elwynn.

So it seems the official consensus is to take Ynnraile and leave the rest of Goldshire as it is?

I would therefore advise the Duke to issue a decree accepting the gift and assigning the counties of Syrelwynn, Asantelian, Goldendown, and Holwinn to the Barony of Nordland until such time as Leo returns to activity, at which point the Barony of Ynnraile could be reconstituted.

So it seems the official consensus is to take Ynnraile and leave the rest of Goldshire as it is?

I was only planning for the worst. I expected the more typical Shirithian "NONONO" response than the current level-headed thinking. I have always wanted Ynnraile. If we can get it without causing anyone too much strife, then let's do it. BUT I don't want to destroy Goldshire, so I say you accept the offer but also wait to hear His Niftiness' response on the matter.
