The Skyla Islands
Dare I ask - but do we feel it necessary to adopt a position on the latest spat between Yardistan and Brookshire over the obscure Islands nobody has ever heard of?

Re: The Skyla Islands
We could administer them as an otherwise autonomous extra-Ducal territory on behalf of both of them?

Well that certainly would be a good way to bring both hitherto mutually antagonistic parties together in a spirit of mutual harmony and common purpose... albeit against us.

The Kaiser could do something similar himself, and surely they would not dare to be antagonistic towards him if he did that?
On the other hand, which option would be better for maintaining otherwise avoidable tensions and thus encouraging the artifical sustaining of activity for its own sake?

Supporting Yardistan via a sudden, yobbish and thoroughly inconsiderate descent upon Brookshire, obviously.

But we wouldn't be supporting either side, which is why they would be uniting against us, isn't it?
And then assuming Echo City's Sheep Races can get going, the two Dukes can then hold a quarterly Sheep Race to decide whoever gets to keep them for the next theoretical Ducal term.
As you can see, there is a reason for everything.

They can sort it out betwixt themselves. Although, off record, I'm personally waiting for Mike Fors to lay the smackdown on Jess.

Re: The Skyla Islands
I feel that getting involved in the islands discussion could prove to be a bad idea. Though if you do think Elwynn should have a stance on the topic then we should be thoughtful on the matter. Personally I think that Jess' choice of how to claim the island quite crude but I do believe he does have some claim (if it does turn out that no contract is signed ).

Re: The Skyla Islands
Unless it escalates beyond "Haha mine now" and "No, give them back", then there's no reason for us to get involved. If it goes into armed conflict, we may have to intervene.

Re: The Skyla Islands
Wouldn't intervening like that simply inflame the situation and turn both of them against us by another means?

By intervene I believe he meant 'pick a side and support it'.
From the looks of it there will be no problem anyways.
