Baronial Decree NONGHOTI4

Post by Santelran Rottsaa »

I resign all positions within the Duchy of Goldshire save Count of Asantelian.

Mostly since it'll make things a little easier once the next census comes around.

I see. Its unfortunate we're having another designation so soon after the Duchal turnover.

There's a census that will prevent that eventually, I assume.

You mentioned census twice. I don't see what the census has to do with anything.

There is a "Citizenships" section on the census form.

There is a Three Citizenship Law.

Are you giving up your Shirerithian citizenship to get a third one?

I'm not giving up my citizenship. I've merely got a 4th one pending.

The answer is: I want to see what the government does about it. I don't think anyone has ever tested this law out, just avoided breaking it.

Well... I'm not sure if you've noticed, but we generally try not to break the laws around here on general principle that we're all good enough people to follow them willingly as opposed to testing their limits and starting nasty lawsuits. At least, that's how it's supposed to work in theory.

I can almost guarantee you that, if you get that 4th citizenship, there will be enough public opinion to support a Landsraad resolution, a court ruling, or a Kaisorial decree for finding you in violation of the law with the obvious punishment being revocation of citizenship.

I'm not sure if that matters to you, but it matters to ME, damnit! Don't leave, man. Look, I'm sorry about the whole furry comment. I thought you'd be okay with it. If you want to be mad at me, that's okay, but don't get all self-destructive with everything over me being a jerk.

No, when I simply leave, everyone bitches and moans and won't just let me leave. This time, they can't complain, I'm getting kicked out.

If he does, the whole purpose of the law has broken down.

In any case, since you resigned, the Duke ought to appoint a new Baron.

It is with great disappointment and dejection that I accept your resignation, Count Santelran. I hope that when your citizenship issues are sorted out you can return to us.

In the meantime, Aryeztur is my emissary to the Landsraad and Harvey is Fishday Duke of Misrule. I am accepting applications from any non-carpetbagger citizen of Goldshire who wants to take over as Baron here.

I haven't the creativity, motivation, or patience for Shireroth anymore. Every time I find something serious to do (which is rare enough), it turns into some awful debacle that makes me more and more frustrated as the days go by. The only thing I've got left right now are the Fishday decrees, and even they're shit anymore and I don't want to do them.
