Should we close Commonwealth Casino?

Post by vasroe »

Shareholders and interested parties: Should we close Commonwealth Casino?

Unfortunately for EasyWin, I just got admitted to an academic program that means I will no longer have time to test and "tweak" it. This also means I would have less time to create and test a couple of the other future games I had in mind, a rotating roulette wheel and a slot machine, both with animation and sound.

Also, EasyWin is bleeding money and I fear that in a few months, without any changes, the Casino would just go broke. People are winning simply way too much money, way too often.

The Casino currently has assets in the amount of 2042, but that is largely due to a cash infusion from me.

If we close the Casino now, the Shareholders would get the amount of their shares back. There are no profits to give back. (I would take the extra 42 back.)

What do you think?

I was under the impression that the whole point of gambling machines was that this sort of thing didn't happen. Don't you control how often people win and what the payout rate is? The odds are supposed to be in the house's favor, but if you're losing money, then clearly they aren't.

I'd like my money back. But I could always keep the casino around, maybe I can tweak it.

Mortis International Services will take control of the casino if you are disbanding it.

The Casino may not be closed, but it will probably be sold.

Shareholder investments have now been returned in full to the shareholders.

The Kaiser has offered to buy the Casino and I am leaning towards accepting his offer. It would not be a stretch for me to say that either MIS or Machine God may have some sort of role in maintaining upkeep and expanding the casino.

You would be correct. This was controlled. Maybe over many bets and a very long period of time the Bank would have made money, but in my own practical experience and looking at other people's bets it seemed they would win after about three bets, then quit.

The main problem is that I will soon no longer have enough time to program, tweak, and test the casino to the extent that may be necessary to keep it both fun and profitable.

However the Casino is a good example of what can be done through the businesses link on the bank. There is a lot of cool stuff that can be done with the Bank API (which the Casino used).

How much is he offering? I'm sure I can offer more.

Actually, if it comes to it.. as a sharehold, if you abandon the bank, I'll use that status to buy/claim it...

I am not abandoning the bank, just looking for someone to buy it. The Kaiser's already said he would, and the implication was that I should name a price. But it looks like (from another thread) that the Kaiser's gone hiking the Appalachian Trail or something.

So,Mortis International, how does 1000.00 P sound?

Price also includes the concept graphics and javascript code I did for what was going to be the slot machine game. (See http://bank.nafticon.org/SlotMachine/ for example)

It's more then fair that Erik gets the opportunity to lead the Casino, afterall, he's shareholder.

Just an idea for the next owner: change the lay-out a bit, so you can easily return to the bank and can see how much money you still have on your bank account.

Meh, I never won... :fish

He's not a shareholder anymore since his investment was refunded.

Erik, Kaiser Leto accepted the 1000.00 Erb offer. Care to bid higher than that, or just let the Kaiser buy it? I think his pockets are pretty deep. As the Bank designer you would probably get to work on it regardless of the owner.

I doubt the casino would make enough to recoup the 1000€ without some major changes. Changes MIS could be hired to implement.

Alright, Erik. Send 1000.00 to my personal account and the Casino is yours to change and improve in whatever way you see fit. The Kaiser told me he didn't mind.

He said since you are going to be the one working with it anyway, he will let you win the bid. That is, he won't bid any higher, even though he has, as I had said, deep pockets.

Honestly I like the idea of doing the services work for him instead. No risk on my part, no investment. Soooo... let him have it. MIS will stand by to assist.
