I can confirm that at 19:00 hours this evening, the Laqi Provisional Government abandoned its hopes for a peaceful resolution to our dispute with the Shirereithans. As a newly established body the Laqi Provisional Government needs to examine its priorities at this difficult time and ask itself what the Laqi People really need in their struggle for independence. The Shirereithan kleptocrats to the north somehow feel it is their right to steal what is not theirs- the Laqi yearning for a free and sovereign Republic.
A Jirga was called this evening and attended by village elders from all across our small Republic, and the consensus was overwhelmingly in favour of violence only in the most extreme measures. Security, it was agreed, was of great importance as the clock is ever more ticking towards an explosive situation.
A document was drafted outlining the creation of a new Emergency Government, assembled in full national unity and committed to the defence of the nascent Laqi Republic.

The Emergency Government officially stands prepared for war at any moment, and is preparing a general mobilisation of Laqi troops to repel the invasion by Shirereithan bandits.
The Government has yet to formalise whether a state of war between Shireroth and the Laqi Free Republic exists, and extends one more offer to Shirekeep to recognise the Laqi Republic and avoid bloodshed.
