btw, the piirate sloop, the Spotted Dog (think New Dalmatia), is embarking on a treasure-hunting trip. There is still time to sign on with the captain, or to be keel-hauled and impressed into the crew. Don't forget to have a pint of grog with our scurvy crew in our shady pub, full of all sorts of rascals and rapscallions.

No! I was self-deprecating. Well, as is normal in my comedic style, I was mixing self-deprecation with a slight amount of sarcasm snd tongue-in-cheek...(the classical question asked by many when I tell jokes, "Is he actually joking?").
