Secession

WHEREAS the Government of Shireroth has seen fit to appropriate the capitol city of Norfolk without previously seeking any input on the matter,
ACKNOWLEDGING the general displeasure of the citizens for remaining part of a nation which summarily appropriates cities for their own purposes,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the County of Norfolk hereby secedes from the Barony of Atterock, the Duchy of Kildare, and the Imperial Republic of Shireroth.
Signed,
Baron Foghorn

The fact that the Baron is attempting world domination notwithstanding, no county of Atterock is going to secede from Shireroth/my evil empire while I'm Baron. Either stand down or meet me on the fields of
regulated conflict while it's still legal.
Also, your first statement is
entirely innacurate. You had plenty of time to comment before now or raise the issue through the proper channels.

Not to mention the fact that's it's UNTRUE. The capital city was never turned over to the SC officially, and officially is the only type thing that the SC can ever recognize.

No I'm sure the decree and the treaty were all signed off.
Edit: Yep - as per the contract
contract between the Crown and the Small Commonwealth.

Secession from the Empire is Treason btw...(for which we have fun punishments). Up till that point it was just an internal Duchy matter.

I'm not going to pursue it since this obviously falls under the non-malicious acts clause.

Is the county of Norfolk a subtle reference to AMFAS (Bolt)?

No, it's a subtle reference to
Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Not so subtle reference I'd say, considering the USA naval forum theme and cities being named after famous ships.

Honestly, I'd rather we take every and all acts of Secession seriously, even when meant as a joke. I don't find it funny. Secession is a serious matter that has caused grave issues in nations in the past. It is one thing I don't think should be joked about.

Perhaps, but it's not like he's acting on this.

So people are allowed to rebel whenever they feel like it but not secede?
That works...I guess.

I'm of the opinion that there's nothing we can't joke about, as long we're actually just joking about it and not saying things deliberately designed to make people feel bad.
