A general announcement

Elections have now started for the Board of Trustees for the Anunia Convention. Basically, the idea is the five people elected will oversee and discuss amendments (and also put them to a public vote) before changing it, instead of it just being me updating it when I think people have stopped debating for long enough. If anyone thinks it likely we'll enter an international war within the next 12 months, its probably worth putting your vote in for the five positions.

Well I don't know much about our international relations, but why ignore the probability if we have the chance? Who can vote and run?

The running's already been sorted. Anyone who has or plans to participate in an international recwar is welcome to vote (because from now on anybody who wants can pipe up and have a vote in the public discussion on ammendments, so anyone can vote the Board in). If you aren't already registered on the MCS forum you'll need to do that though.

Well to be honest I don't feel that I have enough experience when it comes to wars to vote as I would probably just be picking at random.

On another note though. Does Shireroth have any bad relations with other nations?

Well... at the moment, Ashkenatza would be a good place to start.

We don't have negative relations with them perse, it's just that this whole Elwynn River business has... created tensions, shall we say.

Bosworth.

And historically there was huge strife with Babkha but that was generally sorted out years ago with the Mango Camel pact.

Are you kidding? They tried to annex Shireroth 9 months ago! :p

That was quite a fun trip.

Define "tried to" and "annex". :demon

I just realised I'm not above shamless self-promotion. I'm running for Common Law member (Colonel Vilhelm) and would appreciate all the support I can get. The idea is simple enough, a good one at that - decisions made by judges in wars are recorded and remembered by this Common Law fellow in order that in the future these rulings are not merely forgotten about (as usually, if a judge has the good sense to rule on a contentious issue, they will have provided a good justification for that ruling which would prove useful to judges in the future). I feel I'm suitable for the role, and competent enough to do it, so I thought why not.

I would just like to observe that your friendly neighbourhood Khan is standing for election as the Judicial Member. :document

(The tensions between Shireroth and Ashkenatza are entirely roleplayed, we still love them as people (and Max should post more in Shireroth!). Just making sure there isn't any confusion over this point. Same with Babkha really.)

Look, Ashkenatza and Shireroth's roleplaying relations stem to the fact that Shireroth seems to view claiming both banks of the Elwynn River (and thereby sovereign, intermicronationally recognised Ashkenatzi territory) as Shirereithan territory.
Ashkenatza has had enough problems recently and- I hope I speak for all the Knesset- when I say we're now on the way to friendship with Batavia, and really just want peace with all our Benacian neighbours... without being coerced into joining the Small Commonwealth, which no Ashkenatzim want to do.
and Max should post more in Shireroth!
Maybe so. But only in the capacity of a Foreign Diplomat.
And that's not to do with disputes between Ashkenatza and Shireroth, it's just because I feel Shireroth isn't my kind of place. Sorry.
