.gifs, and map making.

So you use .gif for maps? I assume then that a simple graphics editor is all I need to make a map of the Raynor Islands.

Now, where did I put that graphics editor. I think I installed an RPM for one.

You'll want to limit yourself to the general shape of the Raynor Isles on the MCS map, of course... then again, you're a clever one, so you might have already known that.

On the graphics format, there's not really any standard on that. If you're going for a raster format I'd recommend PNG because it's better than GIF and if there's someone here who *still* can't view PNG files we can freely laugh and throw rotten mangoes at them. Nick once made a cool map of Yardistan with different layers of an XCF (GIMP's native format) file representing things like cities, transportation, heights, etc.. I think I've seen maps in vector formats, too.
