Idea: Tourism

Post by Kaiseress Semisa I »

Should we run another tourism campaign? How do we hook people? Last time, our tourism campaign was rather successful--remember those fifty applicants--but we failed to hook them.

If we can put together a really sexy flash intro (tying in another of your ideas), I'll work on a really sexy banner and pop that onto the site, gratis.

Our ad from last time was rather effective, though I don't know if a mildly animated ad featuring Sagus would go over better.

Ooh! How about a mention of Shireroth in the actual RL comics? *ducks and runs away*

The comic is Greg's, and it's ultimately his choice what he wants to put in it. I won't pressure him to--indeed, I won't even ask him to. However, if he does, we would be much indebted.

Excellent ideas, all! New citizens would be excellent, since they would all need counties...and all those counties can't be out on their own so that means...new baronies and duchies! How exciting! If we could get them. :knife

Any ideas on how to acquire them, Baldwin?

You mentioned before that you once got some 50 people interested in Shireroth, but failed to hook them? Why not do the same thing again, and hope for better results?

Because hoping something will work isn't very effective. We need to find a way to make sure that people don't forget about us, as well as finding a way to make them actively interested.

Last time, we just ran an ad on RealLife Comics and Schlock Mercenary (for about two weeks on Schlock and a week on RLC). We picked up about 40,000 ad-clicks, and about 50-60 actual citizenship applications.

Unfortunately, only two citizens from that really stuck around: Rarkasha and DarthMiho. We could have had a few more, but they got lost by the wayside.

Well, that may have something to do with a percieved lack of interesting employment inside Shireroth, which of course is misconcieved. Perhaps if we could simply get the message out in a somewhat largely consumed media (as you did last time) , and also create an informtive and concise advertisement, we would have better results.
