Praise for United States and India

Post by Scott of Hyperborea »

Shireroth's Ministry of the Exterior wishes to praise President George W. Bush of the United States and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India.

During Bush's visit to India this week, primarily intended to deal with the sale of nuclear technology, Bush and Singh took a bit of time out of their busy schedules to come to a deal regarding the world mango trade. Both eventually agreed to a free flow of mangos between their countries, lifting previous mango bans.

Indian mangoes are widely considered the best in the world, but had previously been banned in the United States due to concerns about potential exposure to radiation and pesticides. However, with a recent relaxation of trade barriers between the two countries, Bush agreed to reconsider the requirement, saying ""I look forward to eating Indian mangoes with the opening up of markets and [the] liberalisation of trade."

So do we, Mr. President, so do we. With Shireroth being almost entirely dependent on the United States for its foreign imports, this deal means greater accessibility to Indian mangos for almost all Shirerithians, an important symbolic victory. The Ministry of the Exterior salutes you both.

*shakes head* Heh...
There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
