[MiniEx Policy] Mutual Recognition
On the authority of the Ministry and the Kaiseress,
To simplify the issue of the recognition of foreign sovereignty of a country from the date of implementation of this new policy all that will be required to formalize such recognition will be an official statement from the Minister of the Exterior or the Kaiser(ess). Also a list of all currently recognized will be published and maintained in the main MiniEx forum.
So it is written, so it shall be.

What if the custom of the other nation requires a Treaty?

In which case they can be appeased by the exchange of overly florid letters.

I hope that the ministry realizes that recognizing a foreign country means you see their claims and laws as legitimate. I hope the ministry is doing suitable research on such foreign powers to see exactly what they stand for, less we end up supporting someone who's interest conflict with our own.

Yes, we are well aware of that, not that it is something that is usually discussed at length anyway. This will hopefully simplify matters and leave us the possibility of actually negotiating treaties that mean something. The standard operating procedures seems to be to sign a treaty of recognition and nothing more. This will hopefully mean that the treaties we do sign have consequences.Harvey Steffke wrote:I hope that the ministry realizes that recognizing a foreign country means you see their claims and laws as legitimate. Can someone very talented in graphics maybe write the florid letters, maybe on "parchment", Illuminated initial?

We'll diplomatically work out the florid letters, the recognition will be done as the Kaiseress desires, the parcment will be of the type that eaisly dissolves in the rain and I'm sure the Suchers and Whosits will hang it on their walls just as the WiseCrackers are doing here.

MiniEx takes that Yar as an offer to write up the documents when the time comes - of course you'll paid accordingly.
