The Journey to Schlangen

Post by Maximilian »

Schlangen was left alone for a few years now. The once so beautiful county was abandoned by the previous count and ever since the interests of all Kildarians moved to other, perhaps more important places. Now there was this not so well known Kildarian (was he really or was he just some foreigner?) who seemed to have inherited to position of Count of Schlangen. Even the Erioran Daily, the most well informed newspaper of whole Schlangen, did not really know who was to be this mysterious person.

An old man told he heard something about the mysterious count when he was travelling through Audentior a few weeks ago. He said a man landed there with a boat when he was trying to reach Kildare from Batavia. The old man told tales about the man sailing a gigantic boat all by himself, controlling the sails with his hand and feet without using the rudder at all. When he was caught in a storm he lost control of his ship and landed near the Lighthouse of Apollo. Since the stranger was really tired he slept over there. He got caught by the Lighthouse warden and slept in an empty house ever since. Later he decided to move to Schlangen to inherit the position of Count...

The preparations had been made and the old crown of Schlangen had been dug up from the Royal Storage Institute's branch in Schlangen. Despite the Count being so mysterious, he would certainly be received well by the people. It had once been said that Schlangen was the most hospitable county in all of Shireroth. This seemed to still hold true. Everyone was happy to have a new Count to lead them.

Dutch/Baron William Payne of Hallucination had flown out from Blackrock Nua to coronate the new count, Maximilian, himself. He was ecstatic! It had been so long since Schlangen had had a count, and the people were starting to get angry, but everytime he had tried to find someone suitable, he could never find anyone quite good enough for the great County of Schlangen. William couldn't wait to see what would happen.
