A smaller, niftier Middle Absentia

Post by Ari Rahikkala »

Yeah, that's what I'm calling the bit with Eastern and Western Absentia now. Middle Absentia. If you want me to call it something more interesting, you're going to have to come up with a name of your own.

Image

I redrew the southern border, vaguely following geographic features, to be more interesting. This is almost entirely a land reduction, except for two small bits jutting out. The purpose? Well, let's be honest, the original claim blew :). This would simply make the map niftier while being very likely to be accepted by the MCS (not that that's been a concern most of the time :rolleyes). It does also make Middle Absentia almost entirely a lowland plain (well, I suppose the contour I followed is at 1000m, so not really that low, but...), so you probably could use that as some kind of an item to develop the place further with. (not that I don't already like Prodigy's work in the western part)

If the Baron and Duke are pleased with this, I'm going to take the claim to the Landsraad. (if there are local counts whose happiness should also be checked, do tell, since I don't have any listed as moderators)

Your opinions?

He looked down into her brown eyes,
And said, "Say a prayer for me."
And she threw her arms around him,
Whispered, "God will keep us free."
They could hear the riders coming,
He said, "This is my last fight.
If they take me back to Texas,
They won't take me back alive."

There were Seven Spanish Angels,
At the Altar of the Sun.
They were praying for the lovers,
In the Valley of the Gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne.
And Seven Spanish Angels,
Took another angel home.
She reached down and picked the gun up,
That lay smoking in his hand.
She said, "Father, please forgive me,
I can't make it without my man."
And she knew the gun was empty,
And she knew she couldn't win.
But her final prayer was answered,
When the rifles fired again.

There were Seven Spanish Angels,
At the Altar of the Sun.
They were praying for the lovers,
In the Valley of the Gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,nThere was thunder from the throne.
And Seven Spanish Angels,
Took another angel home.
SEVEN ANGELS CANYON
There were Seven Spanish Angels,
At the Altar of the Sun.
They were praying for the lovers,
In the Valley of the Gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne.
And Seven Spanish Angels,
Took another angel home.
THE GUN BATTLE
There were Seven Spanish Angels,
At the Altar of the Sun.
They were praying for the lovers,
In the Valley of the Gun.
When the battle stopped and the smoke cleared,
There was thunder from the throne.
And Seven Spanish Angels,
Took another angel home.

Gilrean? If you're reading this, I'd like to hear your opinion, too... I mean, granted, Prodigy already said he likes this, but... you know, just so that we know you're here :)

Oh, and before I forget... I think a short stretch in the west edge will have to be redrawn if http://www.micras.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35264#35264 goes through... so we're waiting on the MCS here.

* looks again *

... or not. The map might end up looking... interesting... but as this will retract our land toward the north, there shouldn't be any overlap...

You don't need the whole of western Benacia, Jess. This claim is good for you. It means no other nation will go on Benacia and you just have to beat Tellia to claim the central bit.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).
