I cannot support the illegal actions of Hesam / Hasan. (I suppose he will make himself legal ex post facto. Such is the way of such rulers.)
However, I will neither contest the will of the Arbiter, Founder and Friend of the gods.
When one cannot support a policy, when there are things that are simply WRONG, and they cannot be made right, then Exile is the logical course.
I have turned Yardistan over to benkern. I maintain my citizenship although in exile.
It's ironic that yesterday was such an historic milestone.

Jacobus Loki Shireroth sumus. Tempus in parte nostrum est. Lord of Hallucination, Protector of Illumination, MiniEx of Shireroth, Traditional King of the Mala'anje.
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki
Can't you see? I'm crazy!
Jacobus, as your friend and fellow historian, I refuse to accept your resignation. I expect to see you back in Shireroth tommorow.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy
And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).
May Sakat bless you! I may wander the wiki quietly, but I cannot abide the current situation.
Fellow historian, recall how dukes and such that displeased or rebelled against a monarch would flee the country, and how they might very well be recalled after a change of reign or of dynasty?
This should not be forever, only until the winds change, and blow from somewhere besides Babkha.

Well, I wrote a long, clever, well crafted note which the hotel system ate.
OK, Reader's Digest version.
I still feel upset at the way this started. Hasan promised us he'd be all Shirirthian. Yes, I heard the argument about "owning" Babkha, and thus not being a citizen. An interesting piece of hooey, but hooey nonetheless, with all respect to the Arbiter.
I went over the edge, (in a good cause I still say).
Well, the Arbiter, the Kaiser, and some other folks seem to like this ill-founded idea anyway. So I guess the best way to handle this is to make it legal. Uhnnnng.
I'll post a draft charter for the Commonwealth, that out to do it once it goes through the Landsraad.
Since I'm on a limiting power kick, lets start with me. I unresign the Stewardship, but I think benkern should stay on as Duke of Yardistan. I'll accept a barony or a county or whatever he's got left if he likes.

Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count :: Formerly just "benkern"

You would have been better off if that thought had occured to you a day or so ago. As it is I do sincerely hope that the phrase "too late chum" will be the one that is employed here.
Nothing personal but it would be better for you to be re-hired having learnt the folly of resigning without giving due thought for the consequences of your actions rather than merely "unresigning".
If Hasan rehired him, that would imply that his resignation was actually accepted. I don't remember Hasan accepting, so... let's just write "he never really resigned" in the history books, OK?
Better idea - let's make a mountain out of a molehill and almost have a civil war over this trivial thing. It's the style of the time!

Actually Ari, you're right I didn't accept his resignation because I had fired him the day before. The post reads:
I hear by revoke Jacobus Loki's status as Steward until such a time as he can learn to place the well being of the Imperial Republic before himself. I ask that the Arbiter begin an official investigation as to whether Jacobus Loki has broken the law by attempts to depose the reigning Kaiser of Shireroth. As justification of this request, I present the following:
Quote:
And you could have negotiated in good faith. You let power and the lust of it cloud your judgement.
You are deposed. We will see who the next Kaiser might be.

I just said it was legal, barely, not that I supported it.
Despite my own unique dialect of the English language, (I call it "2am: Who Stole My Last Pint? Fine I'll drink the listerine just to spite you!" English) The point is that Jacobus could become Steward again if he recognized the rule of law and was civil. Ofcourse, I didn't write that in the original statement, so I suppose I'll just have to be more clear the next time he rebels and decides to exile himself for 2 days.
I recognize the rule of law. Civil? Hmmmmm, I'm usually civil. I got freaked out. I was not used to carrying the Sword of Madness.
I guess spent to much time with Diga. The whole Babkha thing freaked me out. Besides I have/had serious reservations about the whole bloody thing, and the manner with which it was presented, which means I should have attempted to throttle Andreas and/or Ardy instead of Hasan.
On review, Babkha needs us much more than we need Babkha. The micronational terror of yesteryear is more of a sleepy kitty-cat.
Hey, all I'm saying is lets give it a shot, if it harms Shireroth in some way, you'd still likely be able to call for my resignation. But even then, if we try it, and it doesn't work, no big deal, we'll end it. If we try it and it benefits Shireroth, you owe me a beer and we call it even.
Of course you'd say that, Hasan has obviously gotten to you too! Look here Jacobus! For I am the Ghost of May Fool's Day Future! Peer into what you've become in 5 months time!
