World Wars

Post by Jonas »

I remember that Benkern opened a topic about recwars somewhere on the MCS forum (can't find the specific post), but I would like to have some information about the micronational world wars. :)

Yeah, I remember people saying thing as 'the second world war' and I also thought that Andreas had participated to at least one of them.
Wasn't the first one a war between communist and capitalist nations? :confused

We named the second world war WW2 on the assumption that at least one of the previous wars must have counted as a world war. I don't know if any were specifically called as such.

WW2 was a bit of a joke, tbh. Lots of nations ganging up against the MI nations (Novatainia, Toketi and Passas). Our sector has never seemed to get the idea that even sides make a war more fun.

Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Probably the closest things we've had to actual world war was the Infernal War and the first War of the Orchids. Granted, the "world" was a lot smaller then, but still.

War of the Orchids? Sounds like chemical warfare...

Less chemicals and more talking dogs / vanishing towers / flinging statues of Stalin (or was it Lenin?) / angels destroying entire armies.

...

So perhaps some suggestive chemicals were involved, after all.

Didn't the first "world war" include something about the Red Antilles threatening Babkha, then getting their asses firmly wholloped? There were a whole bunch of nations involved in that one.

Yes! I thought the same and remember an article on the old MNWiki (which doesn't exist anymore), but I had loved to get a better view over it.

Would the war that resulted in the large transfer of Ocian territory to Antica be considered a Micras World War? Just curious.

Nah, that was relatively small. To be a proper world war, you need two roughly-even sides and all the big nations involved.

Or at least a good distribution across the globe, with conflict in multiple theaters.

That could do it. If the US and USSR had openly gone at it.. that would have counted, due to all the other nations that would have been drawn into it.

I'm recalling a large, large war happening sometime in '03-'04 involving most of our sector. I know we were there, Menelmacar was there, Baracao was there, Treesia, and a bunch of other people. I'm trying to place it.

Edit: Babkha was there too, and it was before the Menelmacari Split, so it was probably in early '03, if not late late '02. I think it might have been before the Mog I Disaster; either way, I don't recall it being during.

Maybe the very end of Tymaria.

Where did that happen, anyway? Is there a board or something we can go look at and facepalm?
