Future of MiniEx Redux
Back again. I was reading through some old stuff and I wonder....[brainstorming]
What if there was a way to encourage TRAVEL (visits) to other nations... AND....
wait for it...
use the SC (which is having a slump right now)?
I think the future of micronational diplomacy lies in the exchange of information and ideas, but if its just the foreign ministers doing that, it won't work.
[ridic brainstorm] what if ALL THE NATIONS WERE ON ONE FORUM?!?!?!?!?!?! [/ridic brainstorm]
soo then...how can we encourage travel to other nations and (the evil prong) get people to visit us?
[/brainstorm]

The closest thing we had to this was the global login on EZboard.

That was kinda nice...

I miss EZBoard.... Yuku sucks...
The only way you're gonna get people to travel around is to have events and give people incentives to do so.

I miss EZboard too, even though the EZcrash wiped out a lot of micronational history.

Re: Future of MiniEx Redux
It had some advantages to the community as a whole.. but for individual nations this works better.

Re: Future of MiniEx Redux
So, future of MiniEx.
I've recently been informed that there are a lot of micronations that aren't even in our sector. One job of MiniEx might be to promote Shirerithian interests there - which would include bringing them into MCS, the SCUE, and maybe getting some of their citizens as duals. It might also just be as simple as promoting news of our existence.
There was one guy in OAM saying why he didn't like Shireroth, and one of his complaints was that we didn't do enough to help small developing nations. Most of that is that we don't know a lot of small developing nations that need help, and that might be another job for MiniEx.

Since when is that our job? I'm all for the MiniEx promoting Shireroth, but helping egostans?

Scott.. I saw the Missing 6 List... Half of what that guy said made no sense... Sure you want to rely on it for input?

Re: Future of MiniEx Redux
I think it's wrong a few more times a day then that.
Re: Future of MiniEx Redux
I would imagine, though, that there's a small-but-nonzero probability that said egostans could develop into something more if they went in the right direction; it wouldn't be the first time a micronation started off that way. If we found some that showed promise, some guidance might not be a bad idea.I'm all for the MiniEx promoting Shireroth, but helping egostans?

I still don't see how it benefits us? I only see it as taking up the valuable time of the MiniEx.

Re: Future of MiniEx Redux
I'm gonna agree. Altruism is nice and all.. in theory, but this is micronations where activity and people are resources to be used for the betterment of your own goals.... *End evil mastermind mode*
Seriously, I don't see that benefiting us, just draining our resources. And people will just see it as us being "evil imperialists" trying to take over other nations through the guise of helping. Yet if we don't help.. we're selfish and isolationist... I much rather just not bother... saves us a lot of energy.

*shrug* I suck at foreign affairs. I'm fine working with nations, but trying to help them get going? I don't see how that can really work for anyone benefit. We'd just be accused of trying to take over the nation... and well.. we proly would try, even if we didn't mean to.
