Yeah! :kaiser
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

I'm sorry, but I know Loki a lot better then I know a Babhkan.

I am not a Babkhan anymore, If thats the extent of the reasons why you don't want me to be Kaiser, it seems fairly irrational.

No, it isn't. Loki has proven that he can become a great kaiser.
I can't accept a former Babhkan on the throne, because you just have given up Babhka. Loki has proven he's worth it, you haven't (yet).

There are enough reasons to say "Hail Loki!" for me. He's one of the saviours of Shireroth.

No hard feelings, Jayatar ;)

Surely the fact that Hesam has given up a high-ranking government position in a nation which is- let's face it- growing at a much faster rate these days than Shireroth is in itself proof that he can make a great Kaiser. Dedication is what it's all about.
If Loki would be such a loyal Kaiser, would he drop citizenship in his other micronations?

That doesn't make him a great Kaiser. I can give up with my citizenship elsewhere too. That makes me no great kaiser.
The fact is that Loki has proven that he can handle the job! :)

How so? As far as I can see, all that Jacobus or any of you have said of him is that "He's the best candidate because he wants to be Kaiser". There is no rationale behind it. And honestly, please drop the Babkhan citizenship thing, It's beginning to look like prejudice since you aren't attacking my policies or my methods, but the culture I belonged to.

Surely the fact that nobody is actually a proper Kaiser yet somewhat refutes that logic...

Technically, though, since there's no Kaiser in the absence of Mors V, Jacobus has power, since he was steward. When a Kaiser is chosen, he may or may not lose power, depending on who aquires the most support and/or who Erik chooses...

Well, I'm split. You're right that I've heard a long list of your skills and accomplishments, and you seem really talented and like the sort of person who could do a great job as Kaiser. I haven't heard such a long list from Jacobus, although that might be because of his connection problems or just because he's a humble guy.

However, even if Jacobus' skills aren't super-spectacular, he's applied them one hundred percent for the nation over the past few months. Every single thing that he thought he could do for Shireroth, he's done, from giving us C&LG to his expedition to developing his Duchy to being really active. You, as talented as you obviously are, don't seem to have really tried to apply those talents for us in a lesser position like a Ministry or a personal project. The impression I get is that you're willing to help us if you're Kaiser, but otherwise you have better things to do. For that reason, rather than the Babkha thing alone, I rate Jake's loyalty as higher than yours.

It violates my sense of cosmic justice to give the throne to someone who showed up and decided he wanted it, rather than the guy who's been quietly and dutifully contributing to the country for a long time. If Jacobus can't think up a list of ideas as impressive as yours is, I'll probably support you anyway, because in the end my sense of cosmic justice isn't as important as making sure we've got a good leader. But if the two of you end up tied on the idea front, I will break the tie in favor of Jacobus, and I don't think that counts as having "no rationale behind it".

a personal project
I do have a personal project. It's a story I've been working on with Scott for a couple of months called "The Meeting of The Nine". It chronicles the story of the reception I've recieved since being appointed Count of Hyperborea and learning about the history of Hyperborea as well. Since its one of the oldest parts of Shireroth, I thought that would be an excellent project for me.

I have been out of the loop for the better part of a week, and I have returned to find circumstances different than they were when I left. I withdraw my objections to Jahander's Kaisership on the grounds of his Babkhan citizenship, as he is no longer a citizen of that nation. However, I retain my opposition to his ascension to the throne because I feel Jacobus has done more to restore the nation's health and vitality than anyone except Erik himself. Jacobus has been leader in various incarnations of Cyberia; is no longer associated with that country, and has, for many months now, devoted himself single-mindedly to the welfare and strengthing of this dear country, not asking for anything but that this country survive. I believe he is the right person at this time for the throne. Perhaps Jahander's time will come later. I would like to see that in the near future, after I see a few more contributions to the nation as a whole.

May I note that when Jacobus first proposed to revive Shireroth he was seen as a heathen, and it was considered a power hungry grabbing of nation that would leave it a shell of it's former glory? And this statement came by such members of our society as Benkern.

Just putting it out there. You can decide which person I'm supporting by it :angel
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Well the tragic thing is not many people are left to remember the last time I did something productive for Shireroth, but most of those who are left who remember are putting their support behind me.

I have learned from this exchange that Hasan (is that going to stick? :) ) seems to be a decent sort, and that his theoretical Kaisership would not destroy the nation. I hope.

Babkha was/is in a way a more honest place than many incarnations of Cyberia were. Cyberians tended to resort to ad hominem attacks and vitriol at the drop of a questionable vote. Babkhans are right "out there" with SAVAK and the salt mines, and minor genocides. Some Cyberias were worse, while hiding behind a veneer of " "democracy" ".

This makes Hasan and myself alike in that we choose to be in a place of civility and culture. In that fashion, and after watching him exert his talents in our contentious quest, I can call him brother.

But I still question whether a list of promises backed up by what wonderful things were done in another country qualifies a Count over a ruling Duke, Steward of the Realm, and, in a minor sense, a re-founder.

Now I need to find a copy of Jayatar, er Brother Hasan's laundry list of promises, so that I can append my response thereto.
Loki II, Kaiser of Shireroth
The Awaited One, Bearer of the Sword
Traditional King of the Mala'anje
Former Vryheer of Maraguo
