No more complaints and kvetching - for a while

Post by Jacobus Loki »

I've taken my upset, carping and complaining into the Shrine of Controversy at

http://shireroth.kuroshiro.net/forum/vi ... 55#p121755

Let Peace and Goodfellowship (and of course Kaiser Reynardine I) rule everywhere else.

Merry Christmas, Shireroth!
Also Happy Hannukha, Joyous Kwanza, Bright Solstice, and whatever else you may believe in/use as a reason for happiness and Good Cheer.

I hereby repurpose this as the general Merry Christmas thread. Exactly that, everyone! :)

Have a blessed Christmas, all of you.
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

Maybe not in the UK, but they show it in Belgium. :thumbsup
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Oh we get Futurama in the UK, we just don't watch it. :p

I thought Christmas was about the traditional things? Like throwing ice-water on frostbitten homeless people or drinking boxed wine until your mouth is purple and you pass out in the manger of the nativity scene on the front lawn of the church? Just as Norman Rockwell intended it.

Boxed wine? Guh. Never touch the stuff.
Here are the wines I can thoroughly recommend after a pretentious red-fuelled Xmas evening with a couple of mates:
Spätburgunder Rotwein
Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Jasci
Chateauneuf du Pape

The three best wines ever to have passed my grape-stained lips in a long while.
I'll bring a bottle of each to the next ShireCon, I can promise :p

Yaay! :thumbsup
I did go on a brewery tour today and tried some very nice Shepherd Neame's Christmas Ale.
The only beer worth drinking is British, Irish, Belgian, German, Czech, Polish, or Austrian. Fact.
The rest is just watered wn gnats' piss. :no

There are some microbrews this side of the pond worthy, but as far as RL(!) goes, Czech, Irish for me.

I'll have to research Polish...

I bought my father a case (24 bottles, for the uneducated) of Weihstephaner Festbier for Christmas. That's the oldest operating brewery in the world - been around since 1040 AD. :thumbsup
