Re: The Retreating Ice (A Story)
Part XIII The Skyla Isles came and went by without so much as a ripple from the Shirerithian forces stationed there. Whether it was due to their lacking knowledge of what had happened thus far, or whether it was a deliberate ploy was never really known. Yet as the ship neared Mirioth there appeared...

Re: The Retreating Ice (A Story)
The Celeste isn't specifically gravimetric. It uses gravimetric drives for lift but is powered by solar prism mirrors that are under the clear ice and water of the "lake" in the center of the ship. The water serves several purposes (besides being a literal flying lake - as opposed to a flying island...

Re: The Retreating Ice (A Story)
Part XII “We’ll make better time now that we’re out over the Shire Sea,” said Rainier as he swung around in his seat to face Valeyon. “Maybe so, but the imperial fleet seems to have pulled a few tricks of its own. First the gravimetric fighter, and now a fuel transport and several other ships have ...

Re: The Retreating Ice (A Story)
Well.... The gravimetric ship was a one-of-a-kind used as a means to an end. It was destroyed, and there aren't any others set to make an appearance. I just needed an engine with enough nuclear punch to raze the last vestiges of Lac Glacei in Gralus. I can call it something other than gravimetric if...

Re: The Retreating Ice (A Story)
Alright, I said I would finish this and I don't want to be looked at like a liar. So I have determined to conclude this story before Christmas. Part XI Rainier knew they were being pursued now. His worst fears had come true. Initially it had been hoped that the remaining nobles would not seek to eng...

Re: Iron Sky Space Nazis
This has been in the works for some time now and I'm keen to see the film when it's finished.
As for the story, I seem to recall reading that the Nazis built on the dark side of the moon to avoid detection.

Re: Notes from Project Ari Becomes Not A Fat Fuck
By reducing your liquids I mean high-caloric or sugary liquids like soda. I don't mean dehydrate yourself like a Babkhan camel. :p If you reduce your caloric intake, you can still eat the same amount of food (mass-wise) and thus not feel hungry at all. Most hunger stems simply from having an empty s...

Re: Notes from Project Ari Becomes Not A Fat Fuck
I'm at around 165-170, so around 77 kg. Ari - Fasting is not the answer. I did that to lose 100 lbs (46 kg) and fucked up my metabolism. Don't do that to yourself. Change your diet so you're eating foods that contain fewer calories and/or reduce your intake of liquids; human body weight is, after al...

Re: The Merger Stuff
Seriously, any such merger would have to have forum administration placed in the hands of a totally non-aligned party. Ideally you would have two people, a Chief Administrator and a Vice Administrator (the latter in case the former disappears, which happens quite often in this hobby). But both shoul...

Re: [Lighthouse] Opening Relations
I apologize, but all parties who initially cited an interest in supporting this project have gone AWOL. Therefore I am respectfully withdrawing the request for a treaty as Lighthouse will not be able to sustain itself.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience.

Re: Merry Frank Herbertmas!
I started losing interest when I got to the end of God Emperor. But my interest has been re-piqued by some of the prequel books (e.g. House Corrino). I've heard mixed things about the final book of the series (Sandworms) but haven't read it yet - I'm almost hesitant to lest I be disappointed.

I sincerely hope that Ric pulls himself through this successfully. It's pretty obvious we all care about his welfare, and offer what little we can to support him.

Re: I put on my overalls and leprechaun hat
I find the ganging-up of people to play a prank on anyone rather repugnant. I'd have expected it more ten years ago when most of the participants were still teenagers. But I would not have expected it now. There is plenty of room in this hobby to get your shits and giggles without hurting people. Sh...
