The Wintergleamish, also known as Wintergleamers are one of the Twelve Peoples of Elwynn. They are chiefly composed of people of Storish descent which have a significant overlap with the Froyalanish. There also is a quite diverse group of people who are referred as Wintergleamers, but have no real identification with any other of the Twelve Peoples of Elwynn. To distinguish the two groups are the former referred to as the Haraldian Wintergleamers, and the latter as the Fenririan Wintergleamers.

Areas of Inhabitation

The Wintergleamers of Storish descent form the vast majority of the population in the Circuit of Wintergleam, which roughly corresponds to the eastern part of the Old East Royal Precinct called the County of Agnesia and Wintergleam. The Fenririan Wintergleamers, who live scattered all over the aforesaid Old East Royal Precinct, are increasingly assimilated into the Elw majority.

Human(oid) Races

The Haraldian Wintergleamers are chiefly composed of a human race called Vanamaðr and sentient humanoid beings like elves, dwarves, merfolk, faeries, etc. Wintergleamish Elves are refered to as Álfarnir. The Fenririan Wintergleamers are virtually all humans.

History

Aside from a pre-existing community of Storish merchants in Wintergleam - some of them descendants of Valtian traders and others being associates or staff of the Sameinaða Erlendur Kaupsýsla Einokun Félagið, the Wintergleamers of Storish descent came to the Wintergleam area from Araxion after Harald of Froyalan, who previously was the Count of Araxion, had been appointed Count of Wintergleam. A second wave took place during Harald of Froyalan's Ducal Reign and the name of the Lands of the Two Sacred Rivers was Froyalan. The Fenririan Wintergleamers are either the pre-Haraldian population or arrrived in Wintergleam during the tenure of Count Leo Fenrir who was the successor of Harald of Froyalan as Count of Wintergleam.

Religion

The vast majority of the Haraldian Wintergleamers profess the Froyalanish Ancient Ways although there are few of them who belong to the Bovic Faith and the Hurmudanish Faith. The Fenririan Wintergleamers profess miscellaneous religions including the Sheepist Church.

Languages

Among themselves the Wintergleamers of Storish descent speak Froyalanish, Valtian, Hurmu Norse, and Wintergleamish. They communicate with others in the Common Tongue. The Common Tongue is the only language that is spoken by the Fenririan Wintergleamers.

Stereotypes

The following stereotypes float around among the other Peoples of Elwynn concerning the Haraldian Wintergleamers: Deeply religious. Strong and tall. Tough as nails. Inhumanly handsome. Hardworking and hard-partying. Well-endowed high-fantasy fertility culters. Nudists. Vikings. Overpaid, oversexed, and over here. Legal eagles. Dashing gastronomes and bon vivants with schwung and joie de vivre. Excessively fond of pomp and pageantry, extravaganza, hólmganga, and pit fighting.

Stereotypes about the Fenririan Wintergleamers: farmers, gold-diggers, sheep-lovers.
