Red Antilles

The Red Antilles (often abbreviated to RA) was the first Dutch-speaking, socialist micronation. It was founded by Spetsnaz and Spelev in the summer of 2004.

The Conspiracy

The Red Antilles started as a conspiracy against the Republic of Charlotta, which was founded by Joxin Diez (formerly known as Charly). The Red Antilles was a closed community-micronation, one could only receive citizenship when introduced by another citizen. Nevertheless, the founding (soviet) fathers of the Red Antilles managed to boost their citizens and even exceed the population of Charlotta. Infiltrating into the ranks of the non-socialist Charlottan political factions had already began. The Red Antillian plans for Charlotta were to install a direct democracy, a board without commercial banners and to simplify the rules of law. They eventually succeeded in taking over the Republic of Charlotta, which they renamed to the People's Republic of Charlotta. One of the three former Charlottan provinces - Mayo - seceeded itself after the coup.

Lacking Experience but having fun

The initial plan was simple: the Red Antilles would invade Charlotta... But they had no experience about recwarring and diplomacy. That didn't stop supporters of the Red Antilles to create a micro-liberation army, though, which was named the "Communist Underground Mouvement of the Antillians " (COBRA or Communistische Ondergrondse Beweging der Rode Antillen in Dutch).
